The political right is not interested in combating prostitution because prostituted women are an essential part of the society those men envision. The existence of “virtuous wives” depends on the existence of prostitution. They will never question men’s predatory sexuality because they believe doing so is emasculating, so they need a group of women toward whom men can direct their sexuality, allowing the “good women” to marry as virgins.
