how it feels to listen to the most ass music ever without someone in my ear telling me it’s ass
I would be much happier if I were an irresponsible person. My goal this year is to become a worse human being.
Right-wing politics ties itself in knots trying to reconcile male hypersexuality with Christian morality, and sometimes the result is an abomination. I will never forget the artwork I once saw on twitter of Jesus on the cross with an erection.
its funny when people act like every "expression of sexuality" challenges, like, the order of things or the hegemony or the right wing or whatever. the right isnt unequivocally opposed to "expressions of sexuality", are you crazy... they use expressions of hetero male sexuality as a political tool (to remind women of their place!) and fly into a frothy collective rage when this is challenged, see "gamergate"..etc...., you may be thinking Oh well when people on the left talk about expressions of sexuality theyre using it as a shorthand for expressions of Oppressed sexuality, female sexuality queer sexuality wateva which obviously The Right does not like.....but if that was originally what we were talking about, somewhere along the line we got confused because now people act like the pornography that your average joe (who is sexually a fascist) jerks it to is a beacon of political light,... the right has a sexuality and expresses it too and its not a footnote or a minor node its actually a major animating/sustaining force, but nobody gets me

Katharine Hepburn, 1934.
The Woman in Black | 1989 | dir. Herbert Wise
I’m far from being a family woman, but my surname belongs to me as much as it belongs to my father. He inherited it the same way I did.
literally….the idea that having your father’s last name is ~just as bad~ as having your husband’s last name has always been wacky as hell to me because regardless of where it came from, that’s the name I’ve been called since birth. it’s not any less “my” name than it is my brother’s name just because I’m female. I reject the idea that I don’t truly belong to my family of origin just because of my gender. If anything, that reinforces the idea of daughters as expendable possessions to be sold into marriage.
and it’s not that there’s no valid critique to be made of patronymic traditions, but it should be obvious why many women prefer to keep the identity they were born with instead of taking on their husband’s identity upon marriage. It’s almost like we have decades of life experiences, relationships, and self-conception tied to our names.
It's often the most male-catered to and even misogynistic media that feature some of the deepest and borderline homoerotic relationships between men. But that is to be expected. People think that patriarchy enabling homoaffectionate relationships between men is a bug, but it's actually a feature. True love can only come from a place of respect, and men often don't respect nor esteem women. They don't see women as capable of intellect, or strength, or imagination or even humanity. Those attributes are reserved to men. Which is why men's true love is often reserved for other men while women are just props to them. That's why it's easier for a lot of male writers to create stories about supposedly heterosexual male characters having the most world-shattering (accidentally romantic) bonds with other men, but not with women that they're canonically attracted to. It's because they can't fathom their male protagonist being so deeply affected by a woman's character, since women are to be lusted for and kept as props for their little domestic fantasies but never truly respected or admired as individuals. The ancient greeks were more honest about this stuff because they understood that patriarchy and male/male affection went hand in hand.

Thinking about it, people only see my arms at night. When it’s hot, I wear a long uv shirt. When it’s cold, they’re covered by a coat, a sweatshirt, or a jacket.
everytime i wear an outfit like this i think about this tweet

I despise that argument that claims the problem with Christianity is merely “people who use it for evil,” because Christian bigotry is very much embedded in the text. However, I do believe the majority of Christian men don’t actually believe in their own God. They like the power Christianity grants them simply for being born male. You can see it clearly in the alliances they make with men who live in ways totally incompatible with what they themselves preach (e.g. male politicians known for sex scandals).

I love how black metal often uses the language of dark romanticism. A few bands take a more direct approach to their music, but most of the time what you hear is a cult of extreme emotion, a passion for the mystical and the irrational. It almost sounds like a rejection of the emotional environment those men grew up in: rational, austere Nordic Lutheranism. A kind of modern Sturm und Drang. That’s what gives black metal that sensual, romantic potential that is so rarely explored, because I don’t even think most musicians in the scene are aware of it.
I hate beer, but I wanted to try malzbier just to see what it was like. It’s so awfully sweet. Even more undrinkable than regular beer, and that’s quite difficult to accomplish.
