Please do not use the new pricing system just for a bigger profit.
With the new CW pricing system in place, I humbly ask that creators consider sticking to the +100 to base price, instead of hiking it up to +200 for extra profits. Example: wigs are 350 baseline, please consider not charging over 450. Backgrounds are 400, please consider not charging over 500.
The new system was designed around making custom wearables more accessible, affordable and easier to buy and submit. It was bad enough when people would charge 500 or 600 CSC for jewelry and small accessories. Six or seven years ago wigs would slot for 600 CSC and not 700 but it was users who drove up the prices then as well. I know this isnβt done out of greed but simply following suit of what others have priced items at for a very long time, but it did originally start out of greed and item βexclusivityβ years and years ago. Things like that are what helped lead to the large decline in users participating in the CW aspect of the site.
As we enter this new system I only ask to please consider keeping prices low so the market can be accessible again. Itβs the perfect time to change the way we view CWs from making money to having it be a hobby again. It will benefit everyone.
So I have to concur with Disasters, raising the price so that the commissioner earns an extra 200 instead of 100 isnβt greed itβs out of necessity. AΒ commissioner has to spend the money out of pocket to buy one of those pretty designs - this is almost always cash. The commissioner (now) needs to spend out of pocket for the submission prices, which will always include the artist copy - which believe me eats up a ton of csc even with the new system. Now, by lowering the amount they earn this means they have to spend yet more money buying csc. Now, theyβre probably already buying some csc, but this means theyβll need to buy even more to cover that 100 csc difference. This might not seem like a big deal, but it adds up significantly when you take into account how much money a commissioner spends on the commission alone - typically $10-60 for an item not including recolors. Youβre basically asking commissioners to earn less so that you can buy an item 100 csc cheaper. This means youβre asking the commissioner to spend more cash money repeatedly, which I would point out means they can buy fewer commissions which hurts the artists and subeta as a whole. This if anything makes it less accessible for players to commission an item, and certainly does not benefit them.
