meredith grew up in pruitt’s funeral home, alongside her twin brother theo ( @conduist ) and older brother leo. her parents ran the funeral home, but they were firm skeptics of the supernatural, dismissing anything out of the ordinary as mere imagination or psychiatric issues. meredith, however, was different. as a child, she could see and hear the dead, but at the time, she had no understanding of her abilities. she believed the funeral home was haunted and spent many nights terrified, calling out for her parents to make the voices stop. along with her mediumship, she also had vivid, unsettling dreams about theo and his possessions, dreams that began bleeding into reality. despite the overwhelming nature of these experiences, her parents refused to acknowledge her gifts, causing meredith to bury her abilities deep within herself out of fear and guilt, especially for what her twin had gone through.

as she grew older, meredith chose to repress her powers, trying to lead a normal life, though the weight of her unspoken truth lingered. she shared her secret only with theo, who understood her better than anyone else, as he too had witnessed some of the strange occurrences in their lives. eventually, meredith and theo moved away from the town that had haunted them both for so long, seeking a fresh start in a new apartment. now, after years of denial, meredith is determined to embrace her abilities and use them for good. while she is still unsure how to harness her powers, she is ready to face her fears and begin learning how to navigate her mediumship in a way that helps others, hoping to find peace and purpose in the gift that once terrified her.
