Is it me, or is the new movie just barely good? I loved the relationship of Judy and Nick, but the way they did everything seemed like they had good ideas but didn't connect them properly. The story is messy and predictable, and the emotional moments feel rushed and secondary, even Gary's parts. We didn't get to properly care for reptiles, and the main antagonists are super simple. It feels like a wholesome idea treated lightly as if a conspiracy that big weren't important. Also, when did Nick's getting mistreated and being the only one to suffer minor misfortunes become a funny gag? Sure, I'm overthinking a kids movie, but the main villain creating a problem for his family to then solve it? Just leaving it like that would have been better for him, but I guess he was desperate to prove his usefulness. I mean, overall, it was interesting to get more of the fascinating universe of zootopia and Nick and Judy. That being said, we got yet another plot twist villain... How... Lovely, and totally not horribly executed. That villain arc deserved respect AND time, like everything else. My brother Pawbert was done so dirty.
