Incredibly dull setting thats afraid to take risks and feels more post-apocalypse than science fiction.

Thinking people wanted randomly generated exploration was a major mistake, but also the game still has plenty of fun exploration, just not in one giant interconnected open world.

Ship-building is fun.

I think its overall a better game than Fallout 4, even if that isn't saying much.

The dullness of its setting is really what condemned it to cultural obscurity. Fallout 4 was lucky enough to inherit an interesting setting from the earlier games, but without decades old lore to lean on Bethesda really struggles to write anything compelling. I actually think the writing in Starfield is better than Fallout 4, it just isnt as interesting, and that might be worse for its image.

Light pollution doesn't exist and all of modern human society exists in time bubbles that transport us to the far future where dark matter has caused the universe to expand to such a degree that light from stars can't reach our planet anynore.

At 2am I heard a knock at the fire escape door that sits directly in front of my bed. I live on the 3rd floor, and no one has ever really been on that fire escape before, so I awoke with a bit of a fearful yell. They kept knocking so in a dazed stupor I opened the door (in retrospect that probably could have ended badly?)

On the other side of the door was a woman, and as I was asking what she wanted I look down and noticed she was naked. Oh.

Searching for some kind of reason, I remembered theres a college nearby so maybe this was some kind of hazing ritual? She didnt say what she wanted so I just said "I guess I'll close this door" and did so.

After I closed the door she knocked again and so I went to open the door again asking "Is there something else you want?" but as I opened it a second time she ran away. Okay.

Soon after I heard yelling nearby along the lines of "YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE" and "WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?" and "LET ME IN" which went on for about 5 minutes before stopping.

So my line of logic is that someone nearby locked her out while she was naked and she perhaps thought my fire escape went to their room? And now that the yelling has stopped I assume they let her back in?

I fucking hate how the modern world uses so many third-party companies to do every fucking little thing.

Oh crunchyroll got hacked because of a breach in their third-party vendor? I better delete my account. Oh the account deletion process is done through a third party company? AAAAAAAAA

The fucking US government uses a third-party company for ID verification to claim unemployment. THE GOVERNMENT. TO CONFIRM YOUR IDENTIFICATION.

Its just an unending loop of breaches and hacks and scams and the responsibility for keeping your own information safe somehow still rests entirely on the individual and and

The DVD itself was intact but very clearly a barely functional rip of fansubs onto a disc (since the show didnt have an official subbed DVD at the time) and the subs stopped working correctly after the first episode too. But I felt so guilty that we got a refund for a DVD that we actually received that I forced my dad to send back the original amount of money to the seller's PayPal.
