One of Carrion’s hobbies is writing poetry! I also think they’d read it too. Which is what I imagine they’d be reading on a rainy day like the one depicted. They are incredibly insecure about their writing and often hides their work, even from their closest friends! They sketch too, but that’s limited to observational drawings of the foliage around Thieves Den.

His eye scar came from a snakebite he received as a newspawn. His eye had to be removed due to the venom. On top of this, he has other scars from similar poison/venom encounters and has built a slight immunity to most natural poisons due to it. I imagine poison from gears of inphernals still affects him, though. He’s just more tolerant to them. He’s not insecure about his scars and don’t particularly care for them

They’re more active at night! This is in part, because most carnivorous plants thrive in damp and marshy areas where they receive little nutrients and sunlight, but it’s also because Carrion is a reserved inphernal. They may be amicable and kind, but if they had to choose, they’d rather spend their free-time alone and quiet with no one to bother them

On that topic, Carrion prefers blending in. His main outfit are desaturated colours/the colour of dead leaves and grass so he doesn’t stand out too much.

They have incredible upper body strength since they climb and scale the trees of Thieves Den often, I imagine being high-above protects them from the inphernal-eating plants below (as most carnivorous plants stay relatively close to the ground). But that’s just my headcanon. I might make a field-guide one day of my headcanoned plants that exist in Thieves Den lol

I do have justifications for each! If you will allow me to indulge

Jan is the son of Ghostwalker, so some of his Pokemon are ghost types! Chandelure, I chose as his ace because both of them reminded me of will-o-wisps, which is what Jan is inspired by! At least palette-wise. His absol also parallels his lore as an omen of disaster, and his volcarona is in reference to his wing-shape—being butterfly-like! His cinccino is just. Because. Feather-duster—Janitor. Yeah. It was originally going to be his ace before I decided to keep his ace closer to his lore lmao

Carrion has a deep love for the flora of Thieves Den, so all their pokemon are grass-type! And because of their association with carnivorous plants, carnivine, victreebel and vileplume were selected for that reason. Cradily’s dex entry also says it uses its tentacles to pull in prey, and its headshape looks closes to what Carrion’s gear looks like! Breloom was also chosen for a similar thought process as its dex entry describes the spores it produces as poisonous, and Carrion is very knowledgeable on poison! Sinistcha was also chosen because they also know how to steep tea and tend to do so as a hobby

Skribble’s team is probably the one most all-over the place NDJSBS Smeargle and Grafaia are both Pokemon directly related to art—and Skribble’s gear is the pencil sword so they were no-brainers. Corviknight and delibird are Pokemon often related to messaging and travel, and Skribble is the deity of travel as well as the SFOTH’s personal messenger. I had a conversation with a friend recently about how Skribble would be a cat magnet but not actually like cats (aka dad didn’t want to get a dog but family got a dog anyway type), so that’s where the purugly came from. Lastly, the Yamask is in reference to Skribble’s late friend, Director, who wore a theatre mask pretty similar to Yamask’s mask (and that late friend may not be as gone as Skribble believes them to be, much like yamask :])
