fandom etiquette as a whole died when people who didn’t grow up on fandoms became stans during lockdown, yes, but why am i seeing people openly mocking fics on twitter. why am i seeing screenshots of fics with captions like “bro what is this 😭.” why am i seeing people mock fic writers for not knowing how sports or theater or college or any other organization operates in the real world.
“college is absolutely nothing like this” “why are we writing four people on the team scoring a hat trick in one game” “so tech work is nothing like this, hope that helps!”
if you don’t like a fic, and if you can’t suspend your belief enough to enjoy a fic that exaggerates or ignores real-world orgs, you don’t have to read it. you don’t have to screenshot it and put it on blast for twitter. you don’t have to post a link to it in the replies. the back button is literally there on your phone. it’s not giving baby’s first fandom anymore, it’s giving entitled asshole and it isn’t as cute as you think it is.
People forget that fandom isn't consumerist. It's community driven.
These fic writers don't OWE you anything. They get literally nothing but community feedback out of their work. So tell me, if they don't get any feedback on a work they pour genuine hours, days, MONTHS of their time into, what is their insentive to keep going? Right, there is none.
They aren't getting paid. They aren't getting famous. They aren't getting ANYTHING out of it, other than words of encouragement and community. You take away that encouragement and community, you take away their catalyst. Therefore, you don't get your fanworks.
Stop being selfish, and engage with your community.
Wdym you hate Stratt? Without her you don’t get a story

I trust them with the world, not with my life though, I’d be very afraid actually
Edit: Image description added, thank you @nebulations !
i know you said we ride at dawn but i’m not a morning person actually. can we ride after lunch
This world is so beautiful. People are shipping Ryan gosling and markiplier. Because they were both in space movies you see
Tumblr users love to do things like this. I DO NOT mean this in a mocking way to be completely clear. I think it's cute. It reminds me of back in the day when people shipped jack frost and elsa cause they both have ice powers.
Or like the superwholock thing. Tumblr users like to go "I like this thing AND that thing.. What if my FAVORITE CHARACTERS met each other? Would that be cool or WHAT!" And the thing is it's absolutely adorable
You can say it's cringe or bad or missing the point of the movie all you want but I don't care. Yeah man, I bet it would be really cute if there was a happy ending and the blood murder man (in space) got saved by the dorky science teacher (in space) and they had yaoi moments. I'm so glad you're having fun
“Like your period, you can’t fast forward this ad” lol. lmao. reload video 🥰🖕

Andor I Have Friends Everywhere | 2.05
"average rebel goes rogue 3 times a year" factoid actualy just statistical error. average rebel goes rogue 0 times per year. captain cassian andor, who lives in a jungle yurt & goes rogue on death star business whenever the rebel alliance isn't keeping up with the intel, is an outlier adn should not have been counted
Andor is so crazy bc it’s just Cassian killing imperials in cold blood but he constantly looks like a sad wet cat. he’s an enemy of the state but how could u hurt him just look at him
the same. to me.
I love Andor for giving their antagonists shitty endings. We follow Dedra and Syril for such a long time that there are moments where we kind of root for them or feel bad for them, even though we know they're terrible people. Andor creates situations to put ourselves in their shoes AND it treats these characters as they should be treated- as villains. There is no "she was just misunderstood" or "there was good in him." These bastards are straight up, unrelentlessly evil, and their endings reflect that. Syril's death is overshadowed by the cleansing of the ghors. He's filthy and at a low point and fighting a man who he's convinced is the enemy, even though the man has no idea who the fuck Syril even is. Dedra, who's whole character revolves around her ambition with her career, ends up being arrested for overreaching on her job. She ends up in a max security prison, not for the crimes she's genuinely committed, but because she disrespected the chain of command at work.
These are genuinely some fucked up endings for these two characters and I love it so much. These bitches got exactly what they deserved, I've never seen karma and justice work so swiftly.
honestly my favorite thing about andor was how important the women were to the rebellion. you don’t have luthen without kleya. their main agents are vel and cinta. you don’t have aldhani without them. you don’t have cassian without bix and maarva. you don’t even have the alliance without mon. none of this exists without the women and that’s so so important.

Spoilers for Andor but I doubt anyone will find this without searching for it lmfao-
I remember my first watch through with friends I thought it was kinda weird how the whole driving force of the first arc is Cassian just wanting to know where his sister could be, and how he really does drop it when Maarva tells him to. (Also I was one of the people who thought the Kleya pan overs were meant to be instigating they were siblings lol-) but then I thought about it more afterwards and realized
It never goes away, that desire to try and save those who are still here is burned by the desire he had to reunite with his sister
He finds his sister in almost every woman he sees in the show (Kleya as a 'if you were rescued with me', Bix as a 'If I could have saved you then', Jyn as a 'if I found you now/hadn't given up')
How she lingers with Cassian the entire show-with his actions and choices-to the last damn episode-RIGHT BEFORE HIS FINAL MISSION-omygod-that shit kills people man.
"So what do I sacrifice? Everything." ANDOR (2022-2025) ROGUE ONE (2016)
