Well.. At least she was when she wore this..

While i want to write shoet stories and do screen backgrounds for every miniature, its just too much for me. My disability makes it near impossible most of the time.

However, i wish to keep this blog as a mostly professional showcase. I am still going to upload finished pieces with nice photographs here.

Sometimes you get sicj and it can be hard to find your groove again.

For me, i like to fall back on this style.

Its super simple, uses bold colours on top of black primer and then leaves large gaps in the paint to act as shadows

The waves lap against the dock, pontoons clattering against each other and the smell of gunpowder drifting out from the bay. Those not already fled for their lives watch as a solitary figure slowly drifts in, balanced upon a crate of tobacco that had miraculously not been breached. A lucky survivor? A calamitous hanger on? This has been a long time coming, my first hand painted mini that i am selling. I actually made the choice to sell this as a statuette, making it too large for most rpg scales as i have felt it would be better suited for the wider audience.

Ptssssssssssssssst! The sound of plasma boiling steel into steam.

And somehow it was perfect timing with the first news of metroid prime 4 coming out the day I toon the photographs.

First time in months i have a working photo booth setup.

Got a lot of minis that are painted but been awaiting a proper photo.

Not really got a lot to say. This is the Firelord model by bitethebullet painted to look like Ragnaros from world of warcraft

Don't have much in the way of scenery for lava so plane base and background from the game

The water rippled. The blue waves shimmering with purple as Skval approached the shore. The sand parting under her talons and water dripping off her scales.

Her time underwater was informative, revealing that the city they were staying in had been built on the ruins of another. Something she couldn't wait to share with her colleagues.

As she walks towards the town, her form buzzes with magic, her scales turning to glowing gold that falls away like sand. By thr time she's reached the road most of her draconic aspects have been reduced. If only she was better at this visage magic, she might be able to fully pass for a human. Ah well.

As she approaches her rooms, she realizes the women she had come to the town with had returned as well.

Maybe she could wait to contact her colleagues after all.

My word has it really been this long?

Between moving, a bereavement, and sickness overwhelming i have struggled to get more models made. These two are a pair of models that represent my world of warcraft dracthyr in both trueform and visage.

I tried really hard to make the dracthyr look underwater by having their feet floating, their magic all bubbled, and my first attempt at painting underwater light rays.

After months of exhaustion from moving and grief from recent events.

I finally managed to paint something.

Worked on about 13 models that make up the "baddies" from rail raiders infinite. The hat colours define what the unit is. Seven brown hatted deputies, five yellow hatted sherrifs. And two red hatted marshals.

Used paint pens instead of brushwork as it has a really smooth coating. Black primer also helps hide where the brush can't reach in this comic style.

It's messy and rough but as someone who's slipped off a bit, it's something I am proud of. Only way is up now

It's been a while. No story this time.

Life is hard. Moved. Bereaved. Just found it hard to make the brush do what I wanted.

April I had a big project planned that took most of my painting time. It was a small art gallery being hosted by my flat building.

I printed and painted loads of scenery and put together a 36 tile marketplace to show off a load of the minis I have made over the last few months.

Then my sickness took over and I wasn't able to do anything for two and a half weeks. As was recovering from this I also learned that my father had gone missing for 4 days, found collapsed, and has brain cancer. I think my brain has just shut down in self defence.

You were advised not to do it, told that it was a foolish endevour, but the payment was too great. You took the cargo and sailed off to the land of the salamanders. It was quiet as you approached the port, thick fog all around you. But you arrived and moored up. "Nothing to worry about" you think, as you arrange for your cargo to be unloaded and walk into the town to recieve payment. The negitiations and checks last for hours, by which time the mists had fully burned away, but your reward was to be walking back towards the docks with a heavy coin purse in your possession. At this point, it becomes clear, your ship is little more than a crows nest bobbing above the waves, and the cackling of the Hanzaki disappearing under the sea.

This little scene was created as an entry to a painting contest. Not expecting to win, but contests are a good excuse to try pushing myself I find. In this case, I tried both creating a multi character scene, but also working out how to do waves. Quite proud of the Results. The water was created by painting various shades and glazes of blue and green, then a layer of translucent hitack, then aother glaze on top to colour, and finall a snow effect paint as the crests. The water swirls are a little mixed in their results.

Chrryp likes the Library. It's rooms upon rooms of paper worlds. Snapshots of peoples lives. Internal thoughts made manifest. Tales of impossible lands. But most importantly. it's quiet. People aren't here to judge, they're here to read and loose themselves as well. Plus old parchent smells and feels so good. it's like being in a drug den to Chrryp when surrounded by such tastes.

So the way I make these photos and videos is I have several going on at once and then take photos all at the same time. This is why a lot of my minis are using the same scenery in a lot of the scenes. Sadly health means that after doing a batch It takes a while until the next batch gets done and I set up the photo secenes.

You thought you knew what spices were until you entered the market. The symphony of smells feel like a cosmic awakening as you realize how subtle and strong scent complement each other to create entirely new tastes. One particular tang sticks in your mind and you gaze around until your eye meets that of a Pandaren. He's smoking from a simple wooden pipe that is blowing quite the elaborate array of multicoloured smoke. A wry smirk dances across his lips, the pipe transposing from one corner of his mouth to the other, and a mild head tilt becons you over. This is going to be an adventure.

This mini I followed a painting guide for. I wanted to try and learn new techniques that I can take further, and the biggest one I learned was that you can paint white over highlights, then reapply a thin coat of the base colour and it layers up in practically a gradient with a single colour. The blacks defintiely weren't as effective and could have done something better with the jade, but overall quite pleased with new skills.
