Vivian Maier, Finding Vivian Maier

My 1,000th cine mini!!! After 20 months, I finished the challenge. I chose Vivian Maier (from the documentary Finding Vivian Maier) to be the “final” piece because of the lessons we can learn from her life as an artist. Here is an excerpt from the blog, and it’s really worth sharing: “Sometimes we forget the most important person to impress with our photography is ourselves. With the proliferation of social media, we always feel the need to impress others. We want to get tons of followers, likes, favorites and admiration from others.

If Vivian Maier started shooting street photography nowadays, she would have probably stayed off social media. She would have shot purely to satisfy herself– and not worry or care what others thought of her work.
