ran away in my sleep

You know what’s truly sickening about this particular scene? This dress (before the mice gave it a makeover) originally belonged to her deceased mother. Cinderella hardly has any personal possessions due to the greed of her stepmother and stepsisters. So, I assume that this dress meant quite a lot to her as a reminder of a simpler and happier time in her life. It symbolizes a fresh start and a chance at a better life for her.  It must have been traumatizing to see her dreams just destroyed, literally ripped from her, torn to shreds. Not to mention, they verbally abuse her calling her a “thief” and a “kitchen wench”. In the end when Cinderella is standing alone in rags, it’s animated so beautifully because you can feel this weight and this sense of hopelessness. Cinderella’s a girl who even said herself that no one could take away her dreams. But in this scene, you can see she’s giving up.

Y'know, I've never actually been to a tavern before.

Misery does love company. But company doesn’t love misery.

Both are true. But...what do miserable people love? Neither company nor misery?

*is quiet for a moment and then laughs* I’m supposed to be cheering you up, not bringing you down with my past. 

-laughs humorlessly after a moment- Don't worry about it! I sorta started it. That's the thing about pain, it demands to be felt. And what's that other saying? Misery loves company...yeah. 

Didn’t I say to trust me?  *grins* Come on Blue Eyes. *starts climbing and stops after reaching a large branch. He takes a seat and then helps her onto the branch after she reaches it.* This is why this one is special. *The tree is located on the edge of a cliff. From their spot they can see for miles and miles at the land.* 

-grins a bit at the nickname and follows, climbing up to sit on the branch next to him- Woah. -looks over at the land that seems to stretch out forever- I-I can see it now. I can see everything! 

Nope! *continues to run. Finally comes to a stop in front of a huge tree.* Here we are! …Can you climb trees?

Ohp- -continues to run to keep up and then suddenly stops in front of a ginormous tree- ...'course I can climb trees! But uhm, what's so special about this one? I don't understand. This forest's filled with ones just like it. Why'd we have to run all the way over here?

I guess that makes us both orphans. 

*grins when she takes his hand. He pulls her to her feet* Alright let’s go! *starts running across the meadow, still holding her hand.* 

I guess it does. Except I sorta forgot to mention my step-mother and two step-sisters.

-pulled and runs to keep up- You're not going to tell me where we're going by any chance, are you?
