Who Am I?
A question Iāve always struggled to answer, but itās fine Iāve been having a pretty good time trying.
I thinking of using this blog as an extension of that process.
So how about we figure it out together? :)

Howdy, itās been a while. Iāve been super busy and stressed out trying to get through my finals so I havenāt had time to post, let alone work on anything. However, I wanted to share the first competent thing Iāve made on lsdj. I made it a couple weeks ago, and itās making me excited to see what I can create once I sink more time into the program.
Enjoy!
hopefully iāll find time to make something new!

The past couple of months Iāve sort of been trying to rewire myself for success. To me being successful is living a life where youāre able to fulfill all of your responsibilities and still have time to invest in meaningful hobbies. I canāt really consider sitting in bed scrolling on tiktok to be a meaningful hobby, sorry.
So to avoid doing, that, Iāve been trying to create more. As well as sharing what Iāve created with the world. It doesnāt matter to me whether Iām skilled at articulating it as long as thereās people willing to try to listen.
Anyways, Iāve made some progress on the song Iāve been working with on LSDj. Thought Iād share.
Things are getting interestingā¦

Itās kind of weird realizing your younger self was on to something.
As I alluded to before, LSDj is going to be my main focus creatively for a little bit. That being said, Iāve been playing guitar for quite some time now, but have never composed my own piece. I want to be able to create music like Jerry Joiner and adjacent artists. The genre doesnāt matter to me. I just want to make music that feels thought out. Music that tickles your brain and you pick up on all the little details with the instrumentation.
I donāt want anything more to be able to put out music that resonates with people, no matter how few. I want to share a song I made. Itās more of a proof of concept than anything; something thatāll help me get a grasp of what exactly Iām trying to create.
Iāve already shared some of what Iāve been working on with LSDj and now Iām sharing this. Iām thinking it might be fun to document my musical progression on here. One, for record keeping, and two, to have perspective on how far Iāve come.
Deal?

About a year ago a couple of my friends really got into LSDj. I thought it was pretty cool, but I didnāt spend too much time messing around with it.
Recently, Iāve been really inspired to create. I want to put out art of some kind and the medium that spoke the most to me was music. Iāve been playing guitar for a couple of years now so I could potentially make music that way. However, I want to challenge myself so I decided to try to get into LSDj.
I havenāt spent too much time with it yet, but Iāve read a little of the manual and have learned enough to at least get a little melody going.
Itās nothing crazy, but I wanted to share.
Wish me luck on my music making journey.

āAll my life Iāve been obsessed with adolescence, drunk on it. Even when I was little, I knew that teenagers sparkled. I knew they knew something children didnāt know, and adults ended up forgetting.ā
ā Lorde
Listen, Iām not going to pretend like I know much about Lorde or anything, but I get a sort of cathartic release from knowing Iām not the only one who feels like theyāre running out of time. I think it might be my innate drive to survive that brings this underlying fear of running out of time; I am only human after all.
Even if I donāt make a huge impact, I want to at least do something meaningful with my life. And this desire has only magnified as I transition from adolescence to adulthood. Iāve spent so much time consuming, only passively engaging with the world, and thatās no way to live. Actively engaging with the instruments life has to offer is more fulfilling. Thatās why Iāve decided itās time for me to start creating.
However, thereās so much more going on in my life now. Sometimes, I feel like Iām always being pulled every which way when balancing school, work, and friendships. I havenāt quite been able to blend the three faucets of my life harmoniously yet.
But, I wonāt let that stop me. My dream is to create content that resonates with people in a way they havenāt experienced before. In a way that speaks to their souls before their minds. If Iām able to do that for at least one person a day then Iāll know Iām living a good life.
