Emma didn’t answer, just stared at her with those intense eyes. The tension between them was thick, almost crackling in the air like the thunder rumbling in the distance.

"You don’t get it, right?", Emma whispered, her voice low, barely cutting through the sound of the rain pouring around them.

Before Regina could say anything, Emma stepped in, pinning her against the wall so fast it made her breath hitch. Her strong hands gripped the mayor’s waist as Regina’s body instinctively arched forward, a surprised gasp escaping her lips.

"Swan...", Regina started, but her voice faltered.

"Shut up."

And then Emma kissed her. Hard. Like she’d been waiting for this moment forever.
