i really spend most of my day laughing at words and images online and then spend the rest of it tormenting myself mentally

Instead of wasting your time and energy futilely obsessing over that which you cannot control/change, invest that in yourself/self-improvement instead. Focus on what is within your control, and everything else will become so much more manageable and less overwhelming. Don’t lose your personal power to that which drains it when you can instead channel it into that which fuels it.
