me: seteth is healthy in the way he mourns his wife in the game which is excellent, it’s really refreshing to see someone in a videogame make it clear that there’s hecking life after the death of a lost loved one

                 Northern winds whipped the stone walls of the monastery in an early Horsebow Moon storm, though it felt more like something to be expected out of the Pegasus Moon. Most of the staff and students of Garreg Mach had elected to keep indoors for the day considering the cold rain and the gales, but Seteth had seen far worse in his years to be discouraged from going out due to a bit of a drizzle and a chill. While the wind nipped at the tip of his nose, he took a seat in his usual spot on the pier, gripped the old, worn handle of his fishing rod and cast his line into the pond.

                 He doubted he would catch anything. After all, storm or not, he never actually baited his hooks. Under normal circumstances he took a muted delight in watching the ripples in the water’s surface after he cast, but the pond was hardly still with the wind. The motions of it all were still just as relaxing to him as ever; he would sit and fish fruitlessly for a while to calm himself and ruminate on old things past, and then when the chill had thoroughly seeped its way into his bones he would pack his things and retreat into the dining hall for some warm herring soup, perhaps with Flayn.

                 Or he would have, rather, had he not spotted a flash of white and red streaking past out of the corner of his eye. A student was out despite the weather, walking swiftly in the general direction of the marketplace. Not just any student, but---

                 There were pros and cons to having Flayn join in on the professor’s class. She herself seemed delighted by the prospect, which was always a positive, and Byleth had proven themself a capable protector should anything else happen to her, but the whole ordeal concerning the Death Knight was too difficult for Seteth to shake completely. He found himself idling at work, his quill scratching nonsense crosshatching into the margins of his parchment whenever he allowed his thoughts to stray to his dau--- to his darling little sister’s affairs, to wondering how she was doing, who she was with, whether she was getting along with everyone else, whether anyone else wished to bring her harm. It was only natural for him to fret and care for her well-being. It was all borne of concern for her, after all.

                 Thus it was only natural to abandon his work midway to flit after her through the halls and corridors of the academy. The professor was too busy to focus all their attention on her at all times. He needed to do it himself.

                 From a suitable distance, where she could not see him.

                 Of course that involved literally sneaking around, and of course that involved diving into nearby foliage whenever Flayn happened to turn around to avoid her gaze. Under normal circumstances Seteth would pat himself on the back and call his methods seamless, but diving into a new bush in the courtyards revealed that it had thorns. He was sent stumbling back out of it with a start.
