   jessie never thought that she’s be back in her home town. all those years of hard work and trying to get her name out there as an aspiring actress seemed to go to waist, since her only path she had led her back here. the last place she wanted to be was here since she had told everyone after school she was going to make it big, and alas she did anything but. thankfully she was able to scramble up enough money to find a place here where she got a brand new job as an drama teacher at the local high school. one thing that she hated about being back was seeing the familiar faces. she felt so guilty telling them that she was going to make it big, and never step foot back here again, but there she was, walking those same streets that she did ten years ago. one face that she was extremely excited to see was river’s. the two had been best friends all throughout the time she spent here, and even though the two lost touch, she hoped that he’d still be here and he’d be as excited to see her as she was to see him. 

   she had been doing some shopping around town to try and make her apartment a little more homey when she saw him. he looked great to say the least, and she could see how over the last ten years, he had really changed. she couldn’t help but to bite her lip to try and contain her excitement as she strolled over and playfully leaned against one of the buildings that he was walking towards. “uh, excuse me sir…” she teased once he walked by and gave him a smile. “but are those car parts you have, stolen?” jessie couldn’t help but laugh as she opened up her arms and gave the large man a huge hug. “long time no see, i’ve missed ya.” she felt like a horrible friend for not keeping in touch with him, but hopefully he wasn’t mad about it. 

     the past ten years had been eventful for river. he had sobered up, stopped associating with his crime-ridden family, served some time in jail, and had finally moved on from jessie - the girl he loved so much in high school. he was supposed to get married in a couple of months. his life had finally turned around and he couldn’t be more pleased with the new found direction of his future. he hadn’t done much, in terms of leaving the town for the big city or anything like that. instead, he had settled - something he thought he would hate, but now he loved. a simple mechanic with a motorcycle. that’s what he was. 

     Mimi hadn’t exactly planned her life to be the way that is was. Most of the time, when people asked, she simply stated that she had gotten lucky. The modeling, the nice cars, the clubbing - all of that really fell into her lap when she ran off from her small town in Colombia to make it big in New York. With a father who worked for the DEA and a mother that enjoyed being a housewife, Mimi hadn’t really worked hard for anything. When she had met Clark, she liked him - he was sweet, caring - but she never wanted a relationship out of him. There was something about him that was almost...too nice, at least for her. Though, as much as she repeated to him that she didn’t want to be in a relationship, she had never actively searched for anyone else to be intimate with.
