Itch.io is intended first and foremost as an indie game market, including a lot of assets people can buy or download for free for their games. However, there's also a lot of more general resources on there now, especially ones under licenses like CC0 that allow you to use for anything, so here's a mini masterlist of stuff I found while browsing!

It honestly really frustrates me that most "free pixels"/"free favicons" people post are just stolen artwork from someone's DeviantArt or something, so my suggestion is: Why not use assets from these packs instead? Most of them are under CC0/Public Domain, and it's easy to recolor them to whatever you need.

It would make sense that he didnt quite solidify his features until he spent more time observing humans and that is why I think that yakumo was def more snakelike whem his gparents first found him

As he spent more time with them, he incorporated aspects of their appearance

Maybe his nose was initially more slit-like. then he starts to model it after grandpa's

Maybe he rushes to add a philtrum when he notices the divot above grandma's lips

He probably missed lots of fine details when he could only observe ppl from afar

But immersed in human society, he can.for example. point blank stare down the village children to see the fine details of eyebrows (what are eyebrows)

He hobbled into the village with a rough draft of his human body and kept revising it, over n over, as he spent more time with people.
