Daryl Dixon’s life didn’t start until the end of the world. Not really anyway. Everything up until that point felt like he was walking the Earth as no more than a wraith that no one cared to notice. His life was a colossal waste of space–devoid of any true meaning. Enough people had said as much. He was a poor, unloved kid from the middle of the Styx that grew up to be a poor, unloved man who chased after his eldest brother, against his better judgement. But when the Wildfire Virus spread just as quickly as its namesake, Daryl’s soul purpose emerged. The name of the game became survival, and if he was good at one thing in life, it was surviving. That’s all his life had ever been and all that it would ever be. Of that, he was sure.
⊹ ♡ Squonk(Female OC/Daryl Dixon Longfic/companion fic to Chupacabra) ♡ Sloane's POV ♡
If you asked Sloane Savage, a Pennsylvania native herself, if she identified with the creature called the squonk, she’d say no on first instinct. However, one must not let her outward beauty deceive them because lurking in the depths of her soul, she is indeed squonk-like–full of self-loathing, hatred, and sadness. She hadn’t always been that way. Her life was far from picturesque, but no one’s ever really was. All the while still, she never found herself wanting because the Lord had done well by her, providing her with all that she thought she could ever need. Those things have a way of changing though as life works its dreadful, bony hands on us. It was what came after the Wildfire Virus that did her in.
