Carry On, As If Nothing Really Matters

Chuck took a deep breath, looking at Cleo and tilted his head a little to check on what she was looking outside of the window. He bit his lower lip and blinked as she said that. “Oh for sure”, he nodded, smiling.

“That was once”, he giggled at that and leaned his palm on the ground so that he’d stand up and looked around, trying to shake the snow off of him. “Okay”, he said and held Cleo’s hand, pulling her with him, so that they’d go to the cab. He opened the door for Cleo, once they reached it and said the adress to the driver, once he got in, as well.

Chuck stopped moving his arms and blinked, as Cleo said that. “When did you destroy the kitchen?”, he giggled. “Sure-we can go home”, he nodded, as he sat up on the ground.

Chuck laughed at what she said. “I think that was the goal”, he turned to look at her, as well. “For sure..we’ve been through that”, he giggled. “I think even after so much coffee, I would lie on the bed and fall asleep”, he smiled, closing his eyes.

 Chuck closed his eyes for a few, before open them. His head turned slightly to look at Cleo. He didn’t hesite to start moving his arms and legs a little, creating shapes with the snow that was on the ground.

Chuck took a deep breath and raised his head to look at Cleo. “Please don’t tell anyone”, he said, widening his eyes and he instantly lied down on the ground. 

Chuck widened his eyes not expecting a snowball falling on his head and he landed on the ground again, trying to gather up snow with only one hand, lying down. “I don’t know if I should call defeat write now”, he said and three small balls of snow at. “But, ouch...brain freeze”, he giggled and kneeled on the ground again.

Chuck smiled. When he had gathered enough snow to create a big ball to Cleo, he felt a snowball hitting his shoulder, making him lose his balance and sit back. He gasped kneeling down on the ground and took the big snowball throwing it towards Cleo and hitting her waist.

Chuck gasped rather loudly, as he felt snow on his face and giggled. “I’m calling it, once this is done-I want to create a snow angel”, he said and tried to gather up snow as quickly as he could.

Chuck pressed his lips together, trying not to react much, until Cleo turned around. He didn’t hesitate much and when the snowball hit his chest, he leaned down trying to gather up some snow. “After this can we make snow angels?”, he asked and threw a ball on her leg.

Chuck followed Cleo towards the park and looked around. His eyes fell on Cleo and pressed his lips together, trying to find something to say or do at the moment. He was very glad that they had a normal conversation and the fact that he opened up about Dereck to her, made him relax a little bit more. He leaned down, created a small snowball, and waited for Cleo to walk a few steps away. He bit his lower lip and threw the ball against Cleo’s back.

“Okay, good”, he smiled at her. He looked around a little, before standing up, as well and followed Cleo. He opened the door and held it so that they’d both go out. He had missed snowy days and he had definitely missed those kind of days with Cleo. He bit his lower lip and looked up in the sky.

“Yeah, sure”, he nodded, moving his fingers slowly against his mug.  He watched Cleo drink her chocolate and raised his hand to call the waiter. He blinked, as Cleo explained and smiled lightly. “Yeah, it’s surely a good thing that we should celebrate for”, he nodded, and somehow he felt himself relaxing. He smiled at the waiter as he came and paid for their drinks. 

Chuck pressed his lips together and nodded at Cleo. He took a large sip of his coffee, actually finishing it and followed Cleo’s gaze. “Do you want to go out? Central Park isn’t that far away-we could...walk through it and then...take a cab and go home?”.
