in the name of Hades

Oh, poor prince. Gods don’t really need to sleep, as far as she’s aware... but there’s at least a little bit of mornal blood in his veins, after all! It’s not something she can just... ignore.

Not when he can barely manages to stay awake and so uncharacteristically snapped at one of the Shades.

Confidently stupid

« it’s just us. you don’t need to hide anything that troubles you. »

“...with all due respect” which, honestly, isn’t much, if not none  “if I had anything that troubles me - which I don’t” she clearly does, but it’s so petty she’s almost embarassed to admit it “and if by any chance I wanted to talk about it to anyone?

« i couldn’t help but notice that you seemed lost in your thoughts. »

He blinks, confused. A little shocked, even, by the fact that he barely noticed the young prince approaching him. It’s always the same, whenever anyone from the Trojan war showed up in the House of Hades, either under the God’s orders or for simply paying a visit. Ulysses kept insisting that he got lost, but everyone knew better, when it came to him.

That day, Hector was called in. They barely exchanged a look, a quick nod to greet eachother, and then went to their merry ways... and from that moment, the hero just stood there. In his place. In silence. Lost in his memories, in what used to be a life of glory, pride and joy, but also of blood and anger. A life ended before he could fully grow, before he could understand where that path would lead him.

At least, until the prince broke the silence. Just then he returns to the present, still taking a few seconds to take a deep breath and relax the grip on his spear before turning towards him, offering one of his usual kind smiles.

« i didn’t want this to happen! i didn’t mean to do it! i didn’t mean it! »

... ...okay, a joke is funny only when it doesn’t last too much. And he can stay down and pretend to be done for good for so much before his old bones start screaming. 

The floor is pretty, but not nearly as comfortable.
