i think the phrase you can’t love others until you love yourself is so damaging. i mean not loving yourself can show up and cause issues in your relationship but to imply that people with low self esteem can’t love someone else is so messed up. sometimes when someone loves you that’s the turning point that allows you to begin to love yourself. not like using love from others as a way to measure your worth but like in a way that teaches you to love yourself.

it takes years to develop your craft. do not romanticize the idea of an ‘overnight success’. be a student. grow organically. get really good. hate your work. start over. find new ways to express the same ideas. the student becomes the master. your time will come.
