Yandere? Creepy? Stalker Hughie x Homelander?
Spit, yandere, dubious con?
Hughie Campbell had a first love.
His first love wasn't Robin neither was it Amy Seller who was his first kiss when he was 14 years old. It was someone he could have never obtained in his life, someone whose world differs vastly from him because he was just a normal everyday human and the other was a supe.
The first time he laid eyes on the supe through the television, it was Homelander's first introduction to the world. Hughie had spent his entire life idolizing superheroes and finally found the most perfect supe he'd ever seen, his heart couldn't help but miss a beat.
Homelander's smile that the supe hid behind, and the eyes that couldn't hide the longing and loneliness the supe suffered, Hughie couldn't bear to see such sight, but what can he do? He is just—Hughie. A human. All he can do to support the other was to watch and support the supe from afar.
He would religiously listen to Homelander's interviews, sometimes noticing the supe's reluctance to answers certain questions and how he would enthusiastic answer questions about his saves or The Seven's saves. Despite never meeting the supe even once, Hughie would still learn more and more about the supe, maybe even better than Homelander knew himself.
Homelander's microexpression, the way the end of his smile twitched when he was angry or the way his eyes would glimmer when he shows off his teams to the world. But Hughie still couldn't see what lies underneath because he only sees what Homelander want to show to the world, he could only study so much from the hidden expression that managed to bleed from the supe's tightly sealed mask.
His heart would thump wildly whenever he listen to the supe's voice, he was also ashamed of it as well since his flustered appearance would also be easily noticeable. He would imagine being in danger and suddenly the supe came out nowhere and saved him, or he'd be jealous of the chair the supe would sit on as me muttered, "I wish he would sit on my lap."
After the second year of his "idol-chasing" Hughie Campbell realised that he has become too invested, too preoccupied with the supe that was never in his league. So, he decided to move on, then he met Robin.
She grounded him, she was normal, human, not Homelander. Hughie thinks he could love her. His thoughts changed once they made out in front of Robin's apartment, their kiss was hot and passionate but it wasn't enough, there was something missing for Hughie.
He opens his eyes in the middle of their kiss and saw behind Robin, on the other end of the street was screen broadcasting Homelander's latest interview as he laughs and smiled towards the camera.
He is ruined. Sorry, Robin.
After that day, Hughie accepted reality that he might never love Robin the same way she loved him. Still, the idea of being with her was... grounding... it helped him stop chasing clouds and fantasies he could never have.
Eventhough Hughie couldn't love Robin, it didn't hurt any less when he saw he explode into millions of pieces in front of him, leaving Hughie to hold on to a pair of owner-less hands. What was he supposed to do now? Find another Robin to distract himself from his disgusting obsession?
The truth is, Hughie just doesn't know his own feelings. Should he grieve? Yes, that's what people normally do. Should he visit her parents to offer his condolences? Perhaps, though they never approved of him. Should he fight for Robin's justice? Does Hughie really have that much affection for Robin to forsake everything just for her sake?
Hughie sighs as he told the Vought lawyer he needed time to think about the offer. He is bitter sure, but not that full of vengeance. He was willing to put all of this behind him when all of a sudden God had given him a gift in the form of Billy Butcher.
The man came to Hughie's life, claiming to be FBI and showed him how A-Train treated his girlfriend's death, he mocked her. Hughie reflexively responded in anger, although deep down he knows he doesn't really care and wanted to get things over with.
Then, Butcher offered him an opportunity, infiltrate the Vought Tower, bug the place and reveal the dark side of the supes. That finally piqued Hughie's interest as the long suppressed dark thoughts he had before is starting to resurface.
Why didnt he think of that? Using the A-Train case to hopefully catch a glimpse of that person that had been on his mind since he laid eyes on him, the person he imagine all his partner as whenever he was intimate, the one he always hope to be sprawled on the sheets beneath him, Homelander.
Robin's death was a blessing in disguise.
If he couldn't catch the supe's eyes as a normal human, why not join the person who's trying to bring him down? At least Hughie will have a better chance of meeting the supe than when he is simply a fan.
His first attempt on meeting the supe on Vought Tower was disappointing, he had met A-Train instead. His would try to find the sule himself but that would be too suspicious, he could only hope the bug he planted would let him hear what Homelander is like when the public doesn't see him.
Imagine his disappointment when Translucent came and foiled his plans. When Butcher and Frenchie left him the trigger to the bomb up Translucent's ass, he didn't hesitate to push and kill him. He had vented his frustration on the vulnerable supe, one because his bug failed and the other because Butcher didn't let him out to even catch a glimpse of his one true love.
But it was the closest he could get to meeting the supe throught his entire life.
In the stadium, as he was posing as a paparazzi Hughie's eyes landed on the new figure that had just descended. It was Homelander, in the flesh. Hughie's heart tremble in excitement as he watched the supe from afar, but it dimmed as he saw him close to Queen Maeve.
Previously, Hughie wouldn't even dare be jealous of her. But now when Hughie could see how his and Homelander's life could actually intertwine, he would get her away from him, he would kill her the same way he did to Translucent.
Maybe it was his killing intent, but Homelander turned back and stared at Hughie's direction, making the human's heart speed up, "He... noticed me."
Out of everyone, Homelander saw him. It's fated.
The third time was an accident. Hughie would kneel in respect at Butcher because clearly he is cupid sent from God to aid Hughie. Because of Butcher's plans, Hughie went to Believe Expo to meet Ezekiel.
That heavenly voice that Hughie only hope to hear through a screen called out his name so beautifully he himself forgot how to breathe. He could die at that moment and he would be satisfied.
"You're Starlight's friend. She got you in." Homelander offered him a glass of champagne which Hughie nervously accepted, he replies with a simple "Yeah" and then almost letting the glass fall which he internally slammed himself to the walk with how uncool it was.
"There you go," Homelander laughs at Hughie's weird behavior. "Good to meet you, pal."
Hearing the supe laugh from the TV was like listening to the most beautiful opera in the world, now hearing it in person feels like angels are singing directly in his ears. And when they shook hands, Hughie almost melted into a puddle right then and there, he never wanted to let go.
When Homelander asked about Starlight, the taste on Hughie's tongue turned sour. He wanted to know more about the supe, wanted to talk about Homelander but Homelander was more interested in his relationship with Starlight.
Hughie hopes his demeanor and expression wouldn't give his feelings for Homelander away. Though Hughie was extra nervous when Homelander's eyes linger on him while Ezekiel was still talking, did he notice? Will he be freaked out? He hope not.
Hughie's heart almost exploded when Ezekiel said Homelander will personally re-baptise everyone present.
"On this blessed day, you will be reborn as a Christian." Exekiel's words didn't even register inside Hughie's ears. He don't think he will be a Christian after this, he only recognize one person as the sun, his light and his God, Homelander.
Homelander open his arms to Hughie and Hughie restrained himself with every ounce of power he could muster to not pin him down and steal a kiss and have a taste of the supe's breakfast. He will end up dead in the end but he will be a happy corpse.
"Something wrong, Hughie?" Homelander couldn't help but twitch his eyebrows when he sees the look on Hughie's face, like a deranged man ready to pounce at anytime. He was taken aback, he had thought the boy will fear him.
"N–no I-I'm totally comfortable. Why do you aske that?" He is lying. He is very uncomfortable down below. His blood pressure is rising up simply restraining his lower half to not betray him.
"Your blood pressure is 150/90, it's a bit high."
No shit. Your presence being here is overloading the previously Homelander-deprived Hughie.
"Do you accept the lord, the father as your savior and Jesus as his son?"
Hughie looked at the love of his life in front of him. Of course not. God clearly created Hughie for the sole purpose of being Homelander one and only most loyal follower. The proof stood in front of him, he got the chance to meet, talk and touch Homelander in person because God wanted him to. And now he will fulfill God's wishes and swore his life, death and soul into the person who stole his heart.
"Yes." You are my only salvation, my one and only God and religion.
When Homelnder finally plunged him into the water, Hughie saw the sinister smile appear on the supe's lips and he felt his heart thumps one again as his lungs couldn't get air bellow the water.
So this is the real you. It's more beautiful that what you show the world.
As he was pulled out of the water, Hughie felt nothing but happiness, he had swore himself to the other even if the supe doesn't know it, he already belonged to him. Maybe it was just a coincidence but the moment he was out of the water, Hughie saw a plan laid out before his eyes. A plan to drag the supe to his side. He can't be forceful. He needed to take his time. Sooner or later his hero would be his alone.
It had taken a long time for it to get to this point.
Butcher had managed to get a supe containing collar from Vought that was strong enough to restrain Homelander. Everyone ambushed the helpless supe and planned to kill him.
But of course Hughie couldn't let them do that. It pained him deeply but before Butcher could deal the finishing blow, Hughie shot him with the gun they use to kill supes. The betrayal and anger in Butcher's eyes was hard to see, Hughie was indebted to him after all.
M.M, Frenchie and Kimiko tried to stop him but he also shot them all. Doesn't know if Kimiko will stay dead though.
"Is this also part of your plan? Having everyone present dead? Counterproductive isn't it?" Homelander laughs mockingly at the corpses that littered the ground.
Hughie walked closer with the gun in hand making the supe frowns and muttered, "Get it over with."
What he didn't expect was for Hughie to slip his hands behind his neck and push him forward, his own bloodied lip meet the human's moist and soft lips. Hughie pushed the now powerless supe down the ground and pushed his tongue inside, making the supe squirm, trying to get the human away from him.
Hughie sealed their mouth in a kiss again and again and again. "Finally, mine. I've been waiting. Planning. Finally."
Homelander then saw the crazed passion swirling inside Hughie's eyes, hungry for the trembling deer beneath him. It was a first in his life to have met someone so.... similar to him.
Hughie smiles as his eyes landed on the collar circling the supe's neck. "It doesn't look pretty but it will do." He pulled the supe's face upwards to face him, "I'm sorry I have to keep this thing on. I never intened to clip your wings unless it's necessary. At least until you learn to love me. After that, I'll take these off. You want to kill people go ahead, I love you despite all the blood in your hands. But for now–I can't trust you yet, sorry."
"You're fucking crazy." Homelander spit in the human's face. Hughie rubbed the spit off with his fingers and tasted it with his tongue, making the supe creeped the fuck out.
"It's your fault. Ever since the first time I saw you from the screen, my heart never beat for anyone else but you. Not Robin, not Annie, but you. You became my everything, my first love, my savior, my deity."
Homelander was speechless. He couldn't be... moved by this cockroach... right?
"Remember Believe Expo? The first time we officially met? When you push me into that water I was reborn anew, now as a believer of Christ but a believer of you—you are my God."
Hughie kissed the supe's chin, "My mouth will serve you with praises everyday."
He opened the supe's mouth with his thumb, "My hands will bring you whatever you desire."
"And my body... I'll use it to worship you every night."
Homelander gulps. He actually thought I would've been better if Butcher had killed him earlier. Because now, he will be at the mercy of this insane cockroach he used to think as a plaything.
A/N: What did I write? I have no idea. I wrote it out of impulse. It's 2 in the morning my brain is so sleep deprived—
