Had this sketch sitting in my folder for awhile, finally decided to finish it!

It's actually a redraw of an extremely old piece, and I'm so proud of the improvement. I'll show the old one under a cut.

This OC is Larico! He's actually one of my very first characters, made 14 years ago holy crap-

He's a soft, gentle, compassionate guy. He loves plants. Hates conflict but will throw down HARD if you hurt his friends. Has trauma and a savior complex. Probably needs a hug.

A thing from a couple months ago that started as a practice sketch and turned into this.

(Yes, some of their names are weird, I named them when I was twelve and it's too late to change them now)

Horizons fandom is on fire right now.

My OCs? Well, I have... many. Too many, probably lol.

Picking a specific one to talk about is difficult. So for now, I'll just show my Big Piece, my Crowning Achievement that took literal months to finish.

So. This is hard to say...

I think I'm done making Horizons fanart and things for... awhile.

I might have burned myself out from doing it so much, or maybe all the fandom drama has gotten to me, but at this point in time, I just don't feel the joy in creating it as I used to.

I'm not done with art itself, of course. I still love to draw other things, but the hyperfixation on Horizons has faded.

I want to keep posting, I want to keep interacting with you all, but I don't know what to do. I'm known for my fanart (specifically friori lol), but without that... what do I even post?

I haven't received any actual hate, surprisingly enough, so I'm not too bothered by the asks.

It's more that I'm very disappointed in the behavior certain fans are showing. It's kinda destroying my drive to create fanart and things for the ship tbh.

Thus, the hiatus. I don't know how long It'll be, just that I really don't feel like making friori content as of right now😔

I still enjoy the ship, and horizons in general. That hasn't changed.

I'll be back at some point.

I saw a FriOri shipper harassing someone for not shipping FriOri😭

When will this nightmare end

The og post with the harassment got deleted and there's just reblogs now but in the post someone talked about Orla being lesbian, a FriOri shipper put smth in the replies (it got deleted so IDK what)

but the OP explained they don't like FriOri and that seemed to piss off the FriOri shipper.

It's just tragic that some of our fellow FriOri shippers qre now harassing people for not shipping it.

Let's please not do not that.

Without seeing the comment I can't properly judge whether it was harassment or just a shipper expressing their opinions a bit too strongly, but clearly my PSA didn't work😑

I needed a break tbh (and also I finally caved and got pokopia so that's been occupying every moment of my free time for the past week oops-)

BUT I SWEAR I WILL MAKE MORE FRIORI STUFF EVENTUALLY THAT FIRE IS STILL BURNING(slowly and painfully but burning nonetheless. Especially after the latest episode.)

After the final battle, everyone is exhausted and nobody wants to be alone. So they all gather blankets in one room and spend the night as the found family they are. (Gramps volunteered to steer the ship, if you're wondering where he is)

As the admin of @pkmnhrzns-confessional i wanted to apologise to you personally for anything hurt feelings.

Also to thank you for your PSA.

Due to requests from shippers and of FriOri alike I am taking a hiatus (how long i haven't decided and asks will he shut off during the time).

I wish you the best, when I return I am thinking of not accepting confessions of any ships. Shippers scare me.

I would also like to apologize on behalf of the friori shippers for causing you so much distress, things really got out of hand and I cannot express enough how disappointed I am that any of us would behave in such a way.

Yeah, it would probably be best to ban ship-related asks. Fandoms, pokemon in particular, can be WAY too intense about shipping, to a toxic degree.

Take as much time as you need on hiatus, I wish you all the best as well<3

If someone says something you don't like. DO NOT. RESPOND. IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM.

It doesn't matter if it's hate directed at the ship or at one of us. Just. Don't.

Don't ruin our reputation as shippers over something so trivial.

People are gonna have opinions. Some of them might seem mean or targeted towards someone we care about. Some of them are just concerned about our mental well-being. Some of them genuinely have a problem with the ship and that's okay. RESPECT THAT EVERYONE HAS THE RIGHT TO THEIR OWN OPINIONS.

We don't have to like it. But trying to counter the hate or make fun of it is NOT. HELPING.

I HATE that I have to address this. I hate that it's gotten so out of hand and blown out of proportion.

From here on out, if you see friori hate, directed at either the ship or shippers themselves, just. Let it go. That's the mature thing to do.

Don't be like certain fandoms that shall remain unnamed.
