Found this self portrait scavenging at mom's yesterday. NY, ca 2009

I had abandoned this piece for months and seeing it sitting on my work table mortified me every day. I had decided to not move it until I finished it and for some reason I always found an excuse not to. Until today, I sat there, worked for hours and finished it. I feel a lot lighter now...

I don’t think tumblr is the ideal platform for me, I keep finding more and more glitches in it and I’m not excited to post. Should I start a new blog or a new website?

I'm struggling with a cold which has slowed down my vacation art making plans but I managed to work in my sketchbook yesterday. I did this thinking of my being in 'my country' where I should be firmly rooted but that I have absolutely no connection with. Not sure it shows in the photo (I took it at night, not a good idea) but I added a layer of beeswax to it.

I found an image of Lima in a newspaper that I photocopied and have been playing with. I’m trying to figure out Lima through my work, that’s how I approach many things in my life.
