More often than not we do the stupidest things when we want or care about someone; lie, role play and make sacrifices that leaves us sad and wretched. But hear this, when you are in a new relationship with someone you care about, refrain from lying and pretending to be who you’re not because you want to keep them happy.
Not only is it highly unsustainable and time consuming, it is exhausting and rarely ends with smiles.
Say exactly what you mean.
Being your truest self simply means that you’d either fit into each others gear or you wouldn’t; hence, the relationship would unravel as it should. Untainted by pretense and role play.
As you are aware, professional actors don’t act round the clock. They get breaks. And unlike them, rest for you is nothing short of fatal. This is why its never a sustainable way to birth a relationship.
Everyone deserves to be loved in a honest way. Imagine building a 40 story with noodle sticks and lying they were gummy-bears, you’d barely make it to the fourth floor before it all comes crumbling down. That’s not to say gummy bears are stronger than noodle sticks but alreast they stick together and could serve as a good foundation.
All I’m saying is; wouldn’t it be nice to start a relationship with someone and naturally discover your compatibility level? rather than deal with the “luring” game, the oh wow’s, and exhaustion’s.
I say we approach every relationship open heartedly with the willingness to unpack all that we truely are.
