You know you’re in love when you can say anything to the person & you know they won’t laugh at you. When you can see their face when you close your eyes. When you can still feel their arms around you holding you tight long after they are gone. When you can still taste their kiss after you have said goodbye. You can tell you’re in love when you miss them before they are gone. When their voice lingers in your ears. When their presence eases any pain. When their name sends chills down your spine. When they are the only thing you can think about.

I think one of my favorite feelings is laughing with someone and realizing half way through how much you enjoy them and their existence.

Still trying to move on from my past relationship and it's been 4 months. It's so hard to not feel guilty even though my ex got a new gf a week after we broke up. How can I stop thinking about the past?

So much harm comes into this world when the wrong thing is said. But that’s nothing compared to the pain from what goes unsaid.

Some people are good at being in love. Some people are good at love. Two very different things, I think. Being in love is the romantic part—sex all the time, midday naps in the sheets, the jokes, the laughs, the fun, long conversations with no pauses, overwhelming separation anxiety… Just the best sides of both people, you know? But love begins when the excitement of being in love starts to fade: the stress of life sets in, the butterflies disappear, the sex becomes a chore, the tears, the sadness, the arguments, the cattiness… The worst parts of both people. But if you still want that person by your side through all of those things… that’s when you know—that’s when you know you’re good at love.

My father had taught me to be nice first, because you can always be mean later, but once you’ve been mean to someone, they won’t believe the nice anymore. So be nice, be nice, until it’s time to stop being nice, then destroy them.

Love is something that you can’t explain but will try your very best to do so. Everyone feels it in one way or another and in my experience, it truly changes you as a person. It can really fuck you up or it can really complete you. Crazy how it can turn out right? Love is enjoying the feeling of holding hands in the car or laughing in bed at 3 am about something you can even remember. You even find that sparkle in their eye or how their face lights up when they talk about that certain thing and you swear you are the only person that notices these things and how you don’t understand how you had never noticed that before. It’s Wanting to spend every moment of your life with them and putting them before yourself. That’s love. Love is also crying so hard that your stomach hurts. Wishing you had never met that person cause you’re hurting so much. When you see them across the hall and you don’t go up and talk to them anymore cause they aren’t yours anymore. When everything you had together was just a memory and it just hurts you every time you think about it. That’s love too. Crazy how one word can have some many meanings, feelings.

I think you’re scared of falling in love with me, because I’m the first girl you can see a future with. I’m not easy and have proven to be a little bit of a challenge for you, but I think on some level you respect it. You’ve been hurt before, and you’re not ready for a commitment. I am so convinced you’re the one that I’m willing to wait until you realize I will never hurt you. We can be the greatest thing to ever happen to both of us.

I told you that I was scared. I was scared that you would destroy me. I knew that you had me, like you owned me and my heart. And I thought I was okay with that. But your response was “I hope you don’t destroy yourself”. And I realized that it’s my heart, my feelings, it’s me. I’m the one who was destroying themselves all along.

Sometimes I think I’ll never love again. all because of how much I’ve fucked myself up. by putting my heart in the hands of people who didn’t know how to handle it. and by putting my body in the hands of people who didn’t respect it. by being so consumed of need for affirmation that I scare the good ones away or worse, make myself a sex object to them. I’ll never be able to love again not because I won’t try even though the thought of it terrifies me to no end, but because all I’ll ever be to any man is a body. and as much as I want to change that I continue to allow those around me to use my body for their pleasure. I need a miracle. and miracles don’t happen to people like me.
