Over all thoughts on the Percy Jackson show (rant)
Very underwhelming. Like why do the characters know everything? There is no suspense or mystery itās just dialogue. I understand that Iām not the age demographic for this show but stillā¦.children can piece things together they donāt need to be spoon fed the info. I thought the cast did really great and I really liked Sally Jackson and how they added more to her but overall the show was just meh to me. Also if I was Percy before he found out his mother was alive I would be devastated that sheās āgoneāā¦idk maybe thatās just me? Literally Clarisse is more upset about her spear being broken then Percy is ālosingā his mom. NONE of the monsters were scary or even menacing to me in the slightest (again not the age demographic). Hades realm looked cool asf like deadass fuck Olympus compared to the underworld. Also Ares was great idgaf is heās the bad guy heās easily one of my faves. I also feel that Gabe wasnāt enough of a douche bag to warrant him to die. Like heās just a bum with a gambling addiction who is a bit of a dickhead like yeah he sucked but not āperish at the hands of Medusaā suck. I didnāt like the trio constantly splitting up. Literally 90% of the show theyāre split up. Also how did this show cost like 15mil per episode and it looks like this and the writing is like this?????
Overall this was a fun show and I like it infinitely better than the movies but I think I just hyped myself up way too much for a kids show.( Iām also not like a diehard fan or anything I read the books once when I was 13 bc I thought they were neat)

Saw āThe Iron Clawā and omg I walked into it totally blind. So I had dated and indie wrestler a couple years ago (watching them cut promos and verbally rehearse the āfightsā was so accurate and honestly was the best part of wrestling to me bc I appreciate the art and the amount of work that goes into it) so Iāve heard names and stuff but I didnāt know the extend of this familyās story and it absolutely gutted me. I also understand there are inaccuracies to the actual family but just like the irl Kevin Von Erich mentioned itās a film for entertainment. It really did the brotherly dynamic very well and the grief hit me like a truck. Like I donāt have super duper close relationships with my siblings but seeing the mother just become more and more empty and the scene where sheās procrastinating going to the funeral because of her dress was too real. I had a very similar experience with my mom when my brother died and she basically shut down so seeing that just really did me in. All performances were amazing and this film has definitely cemented Zac Efron for me like please give this man his flowers fr. All in all this film was gut wrenchingly amazing to me (idk Iām a psycho who loves any film that makes me cry and this one made me sob).
