The Imaginary

It was a cold and raining day. Probably the gloomiest day it has ever been. My parents left me home so they could go do grocery shopping. I was home alone and watched over the house while they were gone. The sound of the rain kept getting louder and louder until it sounded like rocks were falling on top of my house. I looked at the window in my bedroom wondering if this rain could ever stop. I always hated rainy days because it always makes me feel gloomy and sad. So, whenever it rains, I like staying in my room because I feel safe like nothing is going to hurt me. 

Sometimes I feel like my house is very big and especially there was that one room I can never ever go in. It was my basement. The basement was right across the hall from my room. I remember that once or twice a week at night it would make weird noises and sometimes whisper something to me. I was not sure if I was hallucinating or just dreaming, but I always never go near the basement. 

I was in my room playing with my toys and being a good kid looking after the house. A few minutes passed by, I was starting to feel hungry and thirsty so I went to the kitchen. I opened up the snack pantry to see what I can snack on. I remember that mother told me I was not allowed to eat any junk food or anything sweet like candy, but since mother was not at home, I treated myself with my favourite chips, Cheetos. I happily ate my Cheetos until I heard loud banging noises coming from outside. I got startled and looked at the kitchen window to find out that was only the tree hitting the window. Then another loud bang noise, but this time it is the sound of lightning. I have always been afraid of lightning and being alone in the dark. All of a sudden the lightning hit one of power lines and the whole neighbourhood went into complete darkness. The house was so dark I felt like I could not breathe and started to have short breath. I ran straight to my room but the sounds from the basement kept getting louder and louder as I ran closer to my room. I was in the corner of my room curled up and closed my eyes. The noise and whisper from the basement kept getting closer and closer to my door. I wanted my parents to come back home now. It felt like hours since they left home for grocery shopping.

“Stop! I can’t take this anymore. Leave me alone” in a shaky voice.

There was a girl who always wanted a dog for Christmas. All of her friends at her new school had pets, so she got a little jealous. She was an only child and loved her parents very much. One day, she went and asked her parents if she could have a dog for Christmas. Her parents said they will think about it. She even wrote a letter to Santa asking for a dog. What the little girl did not know was that her parents secretly agreed to have a dog and wanted to surprise her. As days were approaching Christmas, her parents already planned out what kind of dog to get for her. The girl begged her parents to get a dog. She did even more chores than before to prove to her parents that she really wanted to have a dog. Her parents were quite impressed.

 Lately, there have been strange things happening. On the news, the reporters said that there has been a strange phenomenon in a nearby neighbourhood park and trail. Coincidentally, the girl’s house was nearby the park and trail. 

Around four in the morning on Christmas day, the girl woke up to a loud noise coming from downstairs. So, she went to check it out and see what the noise was and headed downstairs. As she went to the living room to see if there were any presents for her, she spotted a dark shadow like a dog sitting by the fireplace. She jumped with joy and tried not to scream. She tried to pet the dog without hesitation but the dog said to follow him. The dog led the girl outside her house and into the trail that has been reported for strange phenomenons. The girl was scared of leaving the house but the dog reassured her and told her there were other dogs like him to play with. 

The dark shadow like dogs and the girl played in the trail for a few hours. She was having the best time of her life. All the shadow dogs loved her and her energy. They played all kinds of games from hide and seek to follow the leader. She wanted this to never end. After playing games, they got all super tired and decided to rest on a rock.

When I was little, I used to be scared of aliens after watching YouTube videos on it. Several times these alien theory videos would show up on my recommended list on YouTube and I got interested. But after watching those videos, it slowly started to creep me out. The reason why it slowly started to scare me was because I remember there was one particular one minute video I watched where a black skinny figure was walking on a highway at night. Watching that video at night was a bad idea. It gave me nightmares, and I could not go back to sleep. I recall having a dream that black skinny figure tried to chase me down on that highway or at least that is what I could recall. The only thing I remembered from that dream was waking up after that dream and running crying to my dad. That is how much watching alien conspiracy scared me as a kid. Sometimes I would force myself into watching alien conspiracy videos because it was interesting but also terrifying at the same time. I do not why I keep watching those videos as a kid even though it gives me nightmares every time I go to sleep. 

There was another time I remember watching this video which was around thirty seconds. This YouTube video I watched was in black and white of a woman wearing a wedding dress walking up a flight of stairs. Then underneath the stairs there was a skeleton looking thing crawling underneath the stairs while the woman was walking. It scared me a lot so I had to quickly shut it off my tablet that I was watching. You should have seen how mentally spooked I was. The time I was watching this video was in a restaurant. Not a very smart move but luckily I was wearing headphones so it was fine. After watching that video, I erased my search and watched history. I could not stop thinking about it for the whole. From that video, I never ever watched any more of alien conspiracy or any alien related ever again.
