As Cheren steps off a train and into the station, one striking outfit draws his attention. For a moment, he thinks this is a face he’s already met, but he quickly realizes it’s not exactly.
“You’re Subway Boss Emmet, right? I didn’t know you were both here.” So many people here seem torn entirely away from those close to them, but if a pair this close can be here, then…could Bianca? Or, dare he wonder after so long, Hilda?
“I’m Cheren, the Aspertia City Gym Leader. Do you work here now?”
Cheren would be met with a smile from the Subway Master when he was approached. “That is correct! I am not sure what has pulled us here, but I’d like to take it in stride.” He’d been adjusting very well, all things considered. There were some mysteries on this island to solve, but Emmet felt he wouldn’t be going anywhere anytime soon.
“Huh! I suppose I do!” He’d admittedly just...Taken it over, “Speaking of which, Cheren! Was your ride enjoyable? If there is anything I can do to make it better, I am open to your comments!”
“Were you aware the first steam locomotive lost to a Mudsdale? To think we’ve come so far in our locomotive innovation!”
youre both insane
He’s been at this since he got here, came from one NPC just trying to get to their destination...Apparently, Emmet was not just satisfied with riding the train, so, naturally, he took over as its conductor. He was even dressed for the part already!
“Please stay in your seats!” Emmet came over the PA system. With a paper map in hand, he began to trace approximately the next station, “Next stop: Fibonacci Station, we’ll be set to arrive in less than thirty minutes! Please enjoy the rest of your ride!”

chikabori:
Joltik, huh…?
It was such a small little Pokémon, but a very vague memory of it danced around in the back of his mind. As foggy and murky as it was, he could only really pinpoint the small creature latching onto something and the sound of laughter over it…
Strange. But so many things about this encounter were strange for what he remembered, that it almost just felt normal.
“A chance at victory…I think you’d do just fine with single battles here; practice makes perfect after all!” What was the difference between single battles and…well, any other type of battling, he had to wonder? Was it different from what he was used to in Hisui? Maybe it was the same, given how familiar it felt to be discussing it.
As he watched Gligar curiously approach the other, only to latch onto his arm the same way it just had on his own, he chuckled and shook his head lightly, fingers fastening onto the brim of his hat.
Gligar didn’t bite that hard, after all. Or maybe he was just used to it.
“More pressing matters indeed. But where to start is what we need to focus on, as wherever we begin could lead us down different tracks.”
And back on the hat went to keep Joltik nice and cozy while being out of the sun’s rays. “My strength comes from relying on others’ strength as well as my own, I am not tenured in singles one bit.” He remembered trying once, and utterly failing, the attempt was almost laughable, but the chaos and energy of a double battle, well that went unmatched!
When the Gligar bit down, Emmet brought his free hand down onto the pokemon’s head, whether it hurt or not, he didn’t indicate either way, he was just glad this new pokemon seemed to like him!
“First thing’s first! The crossroads between all wards would be the place to start, the subway here seems just as bustling as the one in Nimbasa. Perhaps we may even run into some cohorts, at this rate: anything is possible.”
“It’ll be the same as always! Follow the rules! Drive safely! There’s not a schedule to follow this time...But! That’s just my little secret.”
Finished this one, I tried to make it look like an old screenshot :p
Again, tried to draw them in the moomin style because I think that would be a nice fit!
chikabori:
Ingo looked up to meet the other man’s eyes, and regretted it almost immediately. He did not like the look in them, not one bit. They were too similar to his own, whenever he peered into a mirror or the still water of a small pond. Just missing that tiredness, glazing everything else over.
Even with his missing memories, he knew this person wasn’t supposed to have that look…it didn’t even come close to matching his smile.
…but why was he so sure of that?
“I caught him…awhile ago. I can’t remember how long exactly; he’s supposed to be a Gliscor. But he’s certainly still the same Pokémon!”
He trained his eyes on his partner, so the other man wouldn’t assume him to be avoiding his gaze. In response, the Pokémon unlatched its jaw from his arm and gave off a small trill, flying closer to the man in white, curious.
“I had others, but I haven’t seen them or their Pokéballs anywhere.”
His hand slid under his jacket, pulling out the singular, hand-crafted Pokéball to prove his point.
“Either way…I’d be happy to show you any strategies I have for Gligar here.”
“I see!” Emmet played along, perhaps in hopes this would just be some sort of prank, “It’s verrrry strange, the same phenomenon has happened to my dear Galvantula! Reduced only to a Joltik!” Speaking of which, Emmet lifted his hat by the brim to reveal the tiny pokemon nestled right on top of his head.
“I’m noooo good at single battles, anyway! I’d at least like a chance at victory, mhm!” Started slightly by the Gligar, he held his hand out to it, either for it to perch or gnaw on his hand, he didn’t care either way, he’s dealt with worse! “I believe there are more pressing matters, don’t you agree?”
While Emmet did not know what Ingo’s deal was at current, he was starting to already understand that this place could do more than a normal person could even begin to comprehend. He’d just have to take it in stride, huh?
antifazbear:
unfortunately for Mike, he doesn’t realize he’s the one being told to move out of the way until it’s far too late. At the very least, he’s able to catch his balance, a small gasp leaving his lips as he stumbles forward, as he catches himself with his hand on the wall of the apartment building, and he looks towards the man who just so very nicely happened to r un him over.
… Well, at the very least - he doesn’t seem too annoyed at the encounter!
“…If you were told you live in the apartments, then yes.”
“What room are you supposed to be in? Maybe I can lead you there.”
“307.” The affirmation came quickly, “I am not used to being the one led around, It won’t be that way for long.” Though it came off cryptic, Emmet wasn’t one to waste his breath, though, maybe it would help his case. Always being off in a rush would make adjusting to Spirale more difficult than necessary. But...Before he could forget.
“I am Emmet.” Boom. Nailed it. “I did run the Nimbasa City Battle Subway, but now I’m here! It’s verrrrrrry confusing!”

▽ I am emmet. ▽ Might take over the local train route. Don’t worry about it? ▽ Double battles are his specialty! ▽ Comes off a tad bit rude since honest to a fault. ▽ Clear! He’s known for charging into people (so much so, his brother scruffs him by the collar) ▽ His team combinations tend to include his brother’s pokemon when he’s not battling along side him.
maybe i’ll make icon borders idk im lazy. BUT hi it’s amber, Emmet’s a super old muse of mine (think 2011!) and I am only enabled in terrible decisions to revive old muses.

“I don’t fight with swords myself, I prefer the thrill of a double battle! I could see the appeal of working in tandem blow after blow!”
@antifazbear
“Watch yourself, sir! Slower traffic to the right, please!” With no regard on if he charged into Mile or not, Emmet bolted past the man before their own apartment, until a wave of uncertainty struck. He really didn’t know if this was the right spot. So, after barreling and running over the man, he turned.
“I’m told this is the building my living arrangements are located. Is this the correct complex?”
chikabori:
Another unexpected stop.
Honestly it was almost funny at this point. Like the Gods just got some sort of a kick over ping-ponging him from world to world without an explanation, or anything from his previous life to call his own.
( there was no rift in this world though…was there? certainly that giant hole couldn’t count as one… )
…though that wasn’t entirely true this time, evident by his Gligar currently gnawing on his arm like it was a teething toy, something all too familiar from when he first gained the Pokémon as a partner. That, and his memories of Hisui were perfectly in-tact. Just nothing before that. It left him with two very familiar things.
A third, if you counted the very familiar face he could not begin to place a name to racing down the tracks to meet him; to speak with him.
Something…something ached, in his chest at the sight of him. The man who looked like him and addressed him with a level of familiarity. Why? Who was he, other than someone he once was close with…?
Well. One feeling was prominent above all else, and that it was that he strongly felt he couldn’t do anything to knock this man off course - couldn’t make him upset, so to say. And the best way to divert from that collision was…
“I didn’t expect to find myself this far along the tracks, either. And without a notice of arrival!”
…if they didn’t mention anything right away, maybe they didn’t want to talk about what could likely fill in the blanks of his memory. Because surely, surely, his mirror of all people would know if something was amiss.
“Perhaps they’re new...” The conductor that was, but he was beginning to trail off in his thoughts again. This composure Ingo carried was different. He was not usually bursting with energy like his younger twin, but he was never tired. “I do not ever recall you battling with a Gligar, are you trying out some new team combinations? You haven’t even introduced me!” He was fishing for something, anything.
Though his smile was unwavering, there was a hint of something more behind his eyes...Maybe dread...Or even anxiety? It was a feeling unfamiliar to the subway master if anything.
“Maybe you could show me the new strategies you have come up with! It’ll also get me thinking about new things to try as well.”
@chikabori
Life doesn’t stop when you have other priorities to attend to, and it certainly didn’t stop now. The conductor had become the conducted on his way into this city, being introduced into the city of Spirale with nothing on him besides the ball that housed his Galvan...No...Joltik, that couldn’t be right...Speaking of which, where was the rest of his team? Perhaps that was another mystery to solve.
But...
This domino effect of thinking, the man looked around and there was no one accompanying him on this lonely car ride. Only ever separated from his brother when they were doing cars that were their respective specialty. How odd.
Before the car could even come to a full halt, Emmet had the car door open and had stormed off to go find anyone, anything that gave off some sense of familiarity. Nothing in Radiale stuck out as particularly eye catching. If there was one thing Emmet was good at, it was sticking to his guns. And, as he charged the corner, luck would have it a jacket of the same make (though darker), caught his eyes. And if there’s one thing about Emmet, it’s that he just can’t stop, and he’s coming in hot.
“Ingo! I knew you wouldn’t be far!” Closer...Wait. Something was starting to look amiss. Why was his jacket torn? Did something happen? “Normally I’m the one who’s eager to get so far ahead! I must say I am surprised.”
