Mini artist bio: They say necessity is the mother of invention. Some of the best creations come from the result of having a lack of resources. Hailing from Chicago, Segun "Mista" Dent architects masterpieces from such conditions. A grad student with a degree in computer graphics and animation, The emcee/ beatsmith known to many as Mista Dent has been called eccentric, artistic, intelligent, odd, quiet, talkative, loud and often spontaneous. Mista Dent meticulously crafts his lyrics and production, relying on his knack for songwriting and melodies, in combination with his ability to create cohesive, free-flowing narratives. A master of wit, humor, socially conscious lessons, boasting, parables and rational, up-front straight talk, Mista Dent has the ability to simultaneously deliver his message through the conscious and subconscious.

The Wack Loss Diet Vol 1 - Feel Tha Burn was released to much fanfare and celebration, and highlighted Mista Dent's developing skills as a producer and an MC, followed up by the explosive Wack Loss Diet Vol 2 - Burnout!   This time for his 3rd Album, "Through The Ashes: Wack Loss Diet Vol 3", he further falls down the mouth of madness, exploring different soundscapes, heights of maturation, insight and fleeting depths of rebellious degeneration, celebrating the contradictions of being alive during this period of uncertainty and turmoil. Its best displayed in the dual nature of the first two singles: "Frigid" and "Ignance" The underlying theme of the album can be summed up in the quote, "We Are the World And the World is in Chaos"
