Hi y'all I'm here again ^^

I bet many KNY fans, especially Douma’s know of the fact that Douma doesn’t really have a name. The name 'Douma' was given to him by Muzan, according to the author of KNY.

Soooo… in my very first DouShino fanfiction, takes place in an AU where Douma is adopted my the Kocho family at a young age, not long after his parents death.

If the Kochou family took him in, he would be given a much more decent name, be-fitting his background and how they hope he would become in the future. (SPOILERS TO MY FANFIC ;))

Though I hardly know about Japanese Kanji, I do know that the Japanese really set their mind in naming the children. I posted part of my story and little Douma's past on ChatGPT for some name suggestions, and here are the top 4 name I got with clear explanations of the meaning that suits his past and the Kocho's way.

Which name do you think suits him best? Sent your thoughts in the comments ^^.

❄️ 冬真 (Touma) → “true winter / pure winter”

(Delicate, aesthetic, rebirth through the cold, close to Douma)

🪷 蓮凛 (Renrin) → “lotus with dignified grace” (Soft, elegant, uniquely Kocho-like, lotus symbolism is perfect)

⭐ 凛生 (Rio) → “a life born with quiet strength” (Strong meaning without sounding harsh; matches his survival miracle

🌈 透凛（Tōuri) - combining Touma & Rio

From “Touma”

Tou (透) = transparent, clear, pure, light passing through → evokes.

His rainbow eyes.

His emotional emptiness as a child • the idea that he sees the world clearly but cannot feel it.

winter air, ice, breath on cold moỏnings.

2. From “Rio”

Ri (凛) = dignified, cold, crisp, composed, beautiful → evokes

Winter breeze, frost

Lotus purity

His gracefulness

Shinobu’s elegance reflected in him

3. Symbolically 透 (“light passing through”) + 凛 (“crisp winter dignity”)

→ “clear, pure winter”, or “a child who endures and stays beautiful despite the cold.”

Anyway I’m back with some of my fanart on Kimetsu no Yaiba - SPECIFICALLY my favorite ship at the moment ! 😎

Here’s an introduction to the fanart:

In this AU - Douma and Shinobu lives in the same era. The Kochou family adopted Douma as a child after a demon attack at his Eternal Paradise cult's temple, not long after his parents' death.

As he grew up Douma constantly got bullied by the children of his age, even harassment from older ones because of his peculiar appearance: platinum blond hair and rainbow-colored eyes. His little 'protector' - Shinobu always stood her ground despite being small, giving the bullies what they deserve for messing with a member of her family, for which the 'emotionless child' grew fond of the brave girl as time flew by. Douma eventually learned to feel true emotions as a human being, therefore had a memorable childhood with loving adopted parents and siblings - Kanae and Shinobu.

Then disaster fell upon the happy family. One winter night, 16-year-old Shinobu returned home from helping her parents fetching pharmaceutical products in town, only to witness the carnage laid clear before her eyes in the steps of her own home: blood stained floor, broken windows and door panels, her parents were no more. Further back to the backyard laid a barely alive Douma, covering her sister Kanae's cold body in his arms with gaping wounds on his back and head. Fighting through panic and despair, Shinobu managed to hoist Douma by the shoulder out of their home looking for help. From then on little did she know that their fate was going to change forever.
