of COURSE it is important to understand that bisexuality isnāt transphobic, and of COURSE it is important to understand that being a lesbian doesnāt make you a t/erf, but i really hate how nobody talks about transphobia (and more specifically transmisogyny) unless itās to discuss how a group theyāre part of ISNāT transphobic. itās like, some wild game of tag where everybody is fighting over how untransphobic they are whilst never actually giving a shit about trans people
example:
i see a lot of posts saying not to conflate lesbianism with terfs. good! 100% agree! i ALSO see a lot of posts saying āfriendly reminder that lesbians arenāt terfsā or āreal lesbians arenāt terfsā and more recently, i saw a post with a bunch of pride flags each with text dispelling a stereotype, like non-binary was like āweāre not confusedā but the lesbian one was āwe arenāt terfsā
like!!! as a lesbian myself, actually, there ARE lesbians who are terfs, and i hate how the sentiment āitās lesbophobic to assume lesbians are transphobicā (which is true) has somehow been warped into āby being a lesbian i inherently supporting trans womenā and āterfs canāt be lesbiansā and āreal lesbians arenāt terfsā because itās just such an obvious dodge of inspecting personal biases and challenging intracommunity issues; itās such an obvious way of avoiding introspection on our community and itās transphobic as hell!
