27 years. 27 years, but how long, Lord? How long did I question your existence? How many hours did I spend running from you? How many anxious lonely crippling days did I waste? How many minutes hours days months years was I lost? How many promises did I break? How many people did I hurt? And still, you welcomed me. And still, you forgave me. And still, you loved me. You never left me. You were right there in it with me, calling me out on the water, but I was too busy looking at the waves instead of your face to notice, to hear You say, “Come.” You taught me how to welcome others. You taught me how to forgive others. You taught me how to love others. 27 years. 27  years, but how long, Lord? How long will I love you? How long will I serve you? All the days of my life. All the days of my life, Lord.
