It's been a while since last I posted here. And I've been drawing still since then! So it's about time we catch up!
A good chunk of this started off pretty experimental. I'm leaving out a lot of the figure practices (Random humanoid figures and pages of hand sketches), though I will show one of my favorite experiments with some odd anatomy.
Afterwards, it was on to doodling down some new avatar ideas. The first ended up becoming The Simple Sillies. While the second one is currently being worked on.
This next part is a character I drew up as an experiment for a specific trend of character design I was seeing and wanting to draw myself. Which ended up becoming a character I was fixated on for at least a little while.
I really want to model him at some point.
I decided to push my boundaries a bit and do a fully rendered piece using them. Which exposed a lot of my flaws. Alongside a realization that how I was drawing them didn't feel as good as the original reference. So I went back to study it and mess with their design some.
With more reference-style doodling to get the head and fluff shape closer to how I wanted it to look and feel.
I was pretty happy with it, so I decided to do a more 'rendered' style doodle with them. Only coloring a specific glow I wanted this time around. (I definitely made their head fluff a little too big here)
Then once again, I go into avatar concepting. Playing with the idea of a Hooded Jester to make into an avatar later on. As an addition to my Customizable Jesters
And to end off this month, a few general sketches. One "I really want to draw a jester" piece. And one "I'm bored, away from home, and have my tablet with me" sheet.
