on cloud nine

i’m sorry to say but this’ll be my last post on this blog. honestly, i am tired of seeing edited fantakens and stolen fanart.

call me a hypocrite, i know my entire blog is only pastel and edits. but if you haven’t noticed it has completely run on queue for months. i kind of felt the need to keep updating, even if i didn’t want to… this blog felt like a god damn job.

editors are amazing artists but there’s no “artistic right” (as i’ve seen someone claim) of editors to steal things that are not their’s, that say DO NOT EDIT on it, and then do so anyway. photography in itself is art and these photographers go out of their way to take these pictures. they’re not yours, and i’m tired of this flying over people’s heads all the time. you do not have some kind of “artistic” entitlement to things that do not belong to you.

i have a huge fucking problem with tumblr users stealing things that aren’t their’s, and ignoring people who try to tell them otherwise. did you know that, even with credit, taking something that doesn’t belong to you is stealing? woah! i can’t believe it! and yet i see so many people post fanarts that don’t belong to them. i don’t care if you provided a link to their twitter or their blog, don’t post things that do not belong to you unless the artist tells you or says somewhere on their blog that its okay to share with credit. you posting their fanart takes the power out of their hands.

in easier terms: imagine you are a piano player. you made a cover of exo’s song, and shared it. then, someone put the audio on tumblr without telling you and then people keep reposting and reposting it, some with credit and some without, some are crappy quality and say “cr: owner” like as if that isn’t so, honestly disrespectful. even with credit, the power of who sees it or who shares it is now taken from you.

i’m not deleting my blog because there are memories attached but holy shit i’ve been wanting to say this ever since i turned pastel :^))
