the above message was written for a display set up at the tower records located in kichijoji, japan: shawols, are you eating? have you been sleeping well? i don’t know what to write. when my world turned dark and my mind blank in an instant, my friend told me these words. “not only the music he created, but the days he lived will continue to exist. so long as you continue to think of him, there will be many things to gain from those days.” i was saved by these words. they’re right, not everything has been lost. the music he created, his words, the days he lived, and the jjong who lives in your memories, they will all continue to exist. in your earphones, inside your hearts, in many places. in various forms. regardless of time or the era, transcending dimensions, [he] will continue to resonate. jonghyun who was gifted musically and brought joy to many people. jjong who was loved by many. it is now jjong’s turn to be happy. i look up at the sky everyday as i wish for my love to reach him. the fact that i was able to learn about and meet a person called “kim jonghyun” is no doubt my life’s precious treasure. thank you. i will always continue to love you. shawols, let’s [start] walking little by little, at times moving forward, at times stopping, and at times moving back, in this world where jjong’s music and words exist.
