The birth of the Freaky Five.  This was the first time I’d ever drawn most of these guys, and the first fully-rendered, fully-colored drawing of any of them.

Astonishers oldies, pt.1...here’s Shockwave.  Even before I watched Scream and fell in love with the characters’ meta-awareness of their genre, this guy was always meant to be a self-aware superhero.  As a kid I was fascinated with the rise of fanboys-turned-creators like Kevin Smith, and so in turn I think that influenced my desire to create a fanboy-turned-superhero...someone who’s methods and identity as a hero are informed by the comic books he’s read.

In case it’s not obvious...I really, really like Batman: The Animated Series.
