Spring Mocha

My entry for the osu! spring splash art contest - depict one or more of the osu! mascots enjoying spring inside. This is also the first artwork I ever did with Procreate! It’s a lot of fun, and while I still mostly do the finishing work in Photoshop, the actual sketching phase is a lot more intuitive when I can draw on a screen :) I’ve also been really into vaporwave palettes and flat color lately (MUST MAKE EVERYTHING MAGENTA-PURPLE-AQUAAAAA). This one is more muted because otherwise it would have clashed horribly with the osu! cookie xD

Beyond the Citadel - Geth

Mass Effect, 08.22.17

My full piece for Beyond the Citadel, a charity fanzine that focuses on Mass Effect’s non-Citadel races! (Tumblr ate the dashboard one pls click for non-blurry) Since geth were an option, naturally I decided to torture myself and draw all of Legion’s little tubes and weird armor plates again but in full body this time haha oh god why. Stylistically I was super-inspired by the Dragon Age: Inquisition tarot cards because then you can put pretty shapes and textures instead of an actual background and also by one of my favorite environments in the game - the geth consensus.

These were made with the intent of using them for a geth consensus scene because there was no way in hell I was going to draw all those orange cube trail thingies by hand lol. Figured I’d put them up here in case they’re useful to anyone else.

Download ‘em here if you want to use them! You can use these however you want (personal or commercial), just credit and show me your work whenever possible :) They were made in Photoshop CC 2015 so please keep in mind they may not work correctly in older versions. Enjoy!

Star Wars: The Old Republic, ~2018

I hated her at first and then she really grew on me (mostly for how her character developed, but also when they finally updated her look to not be a potato with a shredded plastic bag for hair). This is actually from last year and was done as a study of rim lighting from the Color and Light book - I was never quite happy with how it turned out so I’ve tweaked it on and off over the past year until I decided enough is enough just upload the damn thing.

Tumblr ate my color correction again so I apologize if it looks oddly light or oddly dark :/

The ‘draw only purple Voltron stuff’ trend apparently continues...? This has been sitting around forever as a sketch and I decided to take another crack at finishing it after a friend & I had like a three hour discussion about Voltron lol. Lineart and cel shading and I are really not friends, but I wanted to try and emulate the style of all the cute chibi keychains I keep somehow acquiring... (noIdon’thaveaproblemwhydoyouask)

Seriously though, the Blade suit is my favorite thing ever and I’m still in awe of all those awesome fight scenes we got with it.

Designing outfits is not my strong point but at least I practiced lineart and indulged with three billion different hand-drawn patterns ^^;

Another quick pen sketch with some Photoshop to clean it up and add some basic color. Custa is one of my favorite OW players and I’m beyond excited that LAV won the Stage 4 playoffs :D

Proof that 1) I spend way too much time on hold at work and 2) my beloved InkJoy gel pens are also very nice to draw with. Fixed up and colored in Photoshop. It’s very nice to sit down with no real intent and see what happens :)

This was supposed to be a drawing with like... a body and stuff. But considering I haven’t drawn in forever I gave myself permission to play with pretty characters and pretty colors and not really care if it’s not a masterpiece. And I had fun. So I guess it worked.

Lea Surana for my half of an art trade with @fleshwerks​ because it was about time I drew someone other than Spiridon xD In all honesty, though, he’s a fascinating character and was super fun to try and paint!

In other news, color correction still hates me and it wasn’t supposed to be this red ACTUALLY NEVER MIND WE’LL JUST BLAME IT ON BLOOD MAGIC. Also please pretend his sclera are black because I somehow completely missed that detail...

My half of an art exchange on the Dragon Age subreddit, leila0′s Lux Lavellan. Decided for once to NOT do a portrait and chose a pose with some perspective, both for practice and to show an aspect of the character - Lux likes to look powerful! And of course, because apparently I can’t make DA:I art without including the Anchor somehow...EVERYTHING IS GREEEEEEEN. Though, to be fair, I have a bit of a thing for monochrome coloring going on recently anyway...

Please just overlook at that three month gap from the previous drawing in this series xD In all seriousness, I started and stopped this one like, three times because it was being annoying and I hated so many things about it. Today, however, it was time to be a productive person! There are still many little blibbles but at least I can look at it now and not immediately make disgusted noises xD

"Despite Spiridon not enjoying sweet foods he actually likes Sera’s cookies because she accidentally put salt into the cookies instead of sugar, and for some. mysterious. reason, the combination of raisins available in Skyhold + salt, some sugar and a generous amount of… whatever she put in it actually tastes savoury and great as hell. So he happily eats them while unhappily contemplating if the roof is not going to collapse under his 220lb ass.”

(The other something will be studying up on how to draw buildings because apparently that is something I haven’t done for WAY too long, oops)
