As a chef, Sameer was really quite accustomed to all the finer things in life and believe him when he said this was one of the finest dishes he was lucky enough to taste. There was so much to discuss that Eva couldn't even contain her excitement. She couldn't wait to show off her ring to everyone they knew. It was so beautiful that she just wanted to keep staring at it as she processed the fact that they were actually going to get married. "I know," she agreed, "I hope you're not tired babe. The great thing about this giant house is that your parents won't even hear a single thing." She laughed at his adorable question and booped him on the nose with her finger, "Both, but I don't need you to ask me over and over. Just do other things to me over and over and I'll be happy." His parents returned with the champagne and glasses, Eva putting on that innocent smile for them so they would remain unaware of any suggestive conversation the newly engaged couple were having just moments before. The look she gave her fiancé over the rim of her champagne flute though as she sipped on the bubbly was hardly demure.

Sameer hadn't missed the look on her face when she told him she hoped he wasn't tired. The truth was even if he had been, it all disappeared the moment he'd seen that look on her face. He caught the look she was giving him in front of his parents no less and shook his head, mouthing the words 'tease' back to her when they weren't watching him. "so you'll get married here right?" Those words were enough to pull Sameer's attention from his beautiful fiancé as he looked back at his mother. "While it's super generous of you to offer, we have no idea yet. I want this wedding to be everything she's ever wanted," he said as he smiled at Eva, "so we'll definitely talk things through and then let you know?"

She couldn't wait to tell everyone and also find out if anyone knew ahead of time. Clearly, his parents weren't in on Sameer's earlier plans. If they had been, there might have been more of an obvious excitement about them when they were descending the stairs. No, his parents seemed just as surprised as she was tonight. Did her family know he was planning on proposing during this trip? Surely, her dad had to know. Eva always said that she wanted him to have that conversation with her parents whenever he was ready to take that next step and put a ring on it. When he had done it, she had no clue. "Champagne sounds perfect," she agreed happily, not able to wipe that smile off her face. His parents rushed off to get the glasses and champagne, Eva taking this moment to steal a kiss. "I am going to..." she murmured sweetly, the volume of her voice dropping so only he could hear "... ride you so long and hard tonight, you're going to forget your own name."

If Sameer had more of a chance to talk to Eva before his parents came bouncing down the stairs, he'd have told her all about how he'd planned it originally, and who all knew about it back home and even here because while no one knew when he'd pop the question, so many people had known he was planning on it; his parents included. Once he'd gotten permission from Eva's family, her parents and her grandmother--only then had he really gotten started on redesigning the ring for his lovely woman. Sameer watched with a wide smile as his parents rushed off towards the kitchen before she pulled him towards her. He was intrigued by her words and only when he heard the last bit of her statement did he give her a crooked smile. "I can't wait for that," he grinned at her before pulling her close once more so he could kiss her, Disco yapping around their feet as he kissed his lovely fiancé. "Now tell me, is that because you love me, or because I asked you to marry me? Because I can ask you over and over if you'd like."

Things were going to get crazy from here. The good kind of crazy, but crazy nonetheless. Still, Eva was too exuberant to care about how exhausted they would be from all the planning and their careers. Right now, she was only focused on how fucking happy she was to finally be taking this step with the love of her life. Disco made her way right to her mom and dad and Eva could only offer her a pat on the head before she was being led towards Sameer's parents, her future in-laws, to touch their feet and receive their blessings. She'd done it enough times at family gatherings over the years they were dating to know the ropes and she hoped that they all were just as excited as she was that she would soon be an Oberoi. One look at that warm smile on his mom's face confirmed her approval. Eva truly felt so grateful to be marrying into such a loving and accepting family. "Thank you... I hope I'll do you proud," Eva said through happy tears. Disco barked and whined for her attention which broke her out of her emotional moment as she leaned in to give their fur baby snuggles and kisses so she could also join in on the celebration.

Sameer could hardly believe that while he had proposed to her on the day he'd intended to--it was in a completely different way which worked for them. He was just glad she'd agreed and was wearing his ring on her finger now. They were going to get married and continue to live the best life together that they already were--this time just in a more official manner. He watched as his mother and father gushed over welcoming Eva into the family and knew they'd all come a long way since the first time she'd met them. “Beta, you don't need to make us proud. We're already so proud to call you part of our family," his father told her with a bright smile as Disco barked for Eva’s attention and Sameer chuckled as she held her for Eva to cuddle with before he smile d at his parents once more. "We're really sorry for waking you--but at the same time, I'm glad you guys are up. Should we celebrate with some champagne?"

It felt like they were inching towards this exact moment for so long. They both knew it was bound to happen one day, but Eva just never knew when that one day was going to arrive... And here they were. She clung to him as he wrapped his arms around her, sobbing tears of joy against his shoulder. Nothing could beat the way she was feeling right now. A comet could come through the kitchen and she would be too wrapped up in this moment to care. Eva pulled back just enough to hold up her hand and visibly gush over the beautiful engagement ring. The gushing eventually turned into squealing as it hit her that they were going to be getting married. All the ruckus must have woken up his parents as Disco scampered down the staircase with them in tow. Being with her in this moment--Sameer honestly couldn't think of a moment he'd cherish more than this one. She was everything to him, and now she was officially going to be his. Others like him who had been married previously might hesitate before taking such a huge step like this but not Sameer, not when he'd known for ages that Eva was the one for him. She made him become a better human being and with her by his side, he was sure he could conquer anything. He watched as she gushed over the ring, relief flooding through him that she actually liked it until he heard the familiar sound of Disco's paws on the hardwood floor. He was actually happy to have his pup with them in this moment but his parents were arriving with her which had him glancing at his mother in surprise. He told his mother happily before he led her over to his parents, wanting to seek their blessings before he picked up his precious pup in his arms, kissing her on the head as he watched his mother cup Eva's cheeks and bring her close to kiss her forehead. While Eva wasn't looking for the bells and whistles of a huge grand gesture, maybe she did hope she had something decent on. Suddenly she was feeling very exposed in that robe. Still, the moment Sameer got on one knee before her, Eva forgot about everything and focused only on his words and the fact that once he was finished speaking, she would be responding with an emphatic yes. Tears welled up in her eyes as he talked about their bond and how special she was to him. She wanted to continue supporting him as his partner and eventually his wife. Eva was so ready for this moment and all the exciting moments that would come after it that the second he finished asking that important questions, she was nodding enthusiastically. "Yes! of course I'll marry you!" It was the only answer she could even possibly give him. There was no way she was turning down the opportunity to spend their entire lives together.

From the moment he'd begun his speech, he could see the way her eyes had welled up and knew that he was on the right track. He didn't want to make her cry but he wanted to ensure she knew how important this moment was. And it was truly fitting for it to be done in the most normal way possible, yet it made this evening so special. He heard her enthusiastic yes and laughed out loud as he heard the words he’d been wanting to hear for so long. She wanted to marry him. Sameer opened up the box with the ring and presented her with it for a split second before sliding it onto her left ring finger. He hoped she loved it given how he'd spent hours deciding on how he wanted to design it. The stones came from a ring his grandmother had left for his future bride, a ring he’d never given to the one before Eva. But the ring hadn't been something he felt like Eva would’ve liked and so he'd had it redesigned, keeping the traditional flavour but allowing it to become more modern with it's setting. “I love you so much,” he leaned up, wrapping her in a hug instantly.
