I think it's really funny that there are IR stans flipping out about how "disgusting" IHs are because of one person crosstagging with reposted art in their dumbass Twitter tag, when they're the ones who have been encouraging adultery, child abuse, body shaming, and other misogyny in their fandom since the canon pairings were announced (and even before then, honestly). IRs really have some fucked up sense of ethics; crosstagging is "disgusting", but child abuse & cheating ought to require a fandom-wide celebration? Okay, freaks š Now, don't get me wrong, crosstagging is dumb and instigative. If you do it, you're literally doing it to start shit with them. But the fact that they reposted other ppls art (that is now being defaced by IRs) is a lot worse than plain crosstagging. Both the reposter, and the ppl defacing the art should be ashamed. Anyways. IRs lacking in self-awareness and making embarrassingly huge hypocrites out of themselves? Business as usual.

The basis of IshiHime as a ship (at least in fanon) revolves so heavily around Orihime being stripped of her own autonomy (or rather, what little she has from an objective standpoint - she is after all, a fictional character), being indebted to a man whom sheās shown no romantic interest in but apparently owes her body and heart to for his passing kindness, and being twisted into a crumbling waif of a character that is so wholly dependent on him that she becomes āuselessā without him.
Pretty fucking ironic when you consider the fandomās chief complains against IH.
But the devaluing and diminishing of Orihimeās character to the point of her being unrecognisable; to the point where she becomes a Little Black Dress of a woman for shippers to strip away her characterisation and pair her with anyone whoās convenient/Not Ichigo is so completely ingrained into the IshiHime fandom that itās downright baffling that any of them can call themselves a fan of Orihime and take themselves seriously.

ichigo just isnāt very comfortable with being soft and gentle (which is why his kindness to orihime is so telling of his feelings), thatās who he grew up to be after Masaki diedā¦ so of course heās going to be nervous confessing to orihime. heās loved her quietly for 5 years, if not longer, thinking sheās out of his league and just entirely content to let her live out her life without him in it. of course he looks nervous, serious, and even a little scared. that doesnāt mean he doesnāt love her. it means the exact opposite, because thatās how he is as a character.
there was a great post I read recently that described his circumstances well (though I forget the op atm) but Ichigo is a selfless person; he prefers to soldier on by himself and doesn't like to request things form others (hence why his request that Orihime help him in battle was such a big deal). The post put it nicely- now that everything is said and done, Ichigo is "asking for something from Orihime that he isn't sure she wants to give". Of course he would be nervous, shy. Especially considering how he struggles to express his emotions openly throughout the manga. of course he'd be nervous when he's about to lay his heart open in front of Orihime with no guarantee of acceptance (that he's aware of). Kubos great at depicting body language, and there's a very palpable sense of tenseness, nervousness, quiet determination, and a bit of shyness that comes from ichigos role in the sketch.
why do IRs like make fun of the expressions on Ichigo & Rukias faces in the WDKALY sketches and drone on and on about how fucking miserable they apparently are, then immediately turn around and edit the sketches together bc somehow Ichigo and Rukia just by virtue of existing in the same panel is romance this is the exact same shit they did when they bashed kazui and ichika, then turned around and edited their color palettes to be "IR children" and suddenly they were fine And yet they STILL insist they aren't jealous or butthurt- it's so fucking stupid. how come for IH essays all we need to do is show mangacaps of their moments, but every time thereās an IR essay it doubles as anti-orihime or anti-IH and they canātĀ āproveā their ship without tearing down orihime?
