I put my OCs in a life simulation game. The ones who are supposed to be friends ended up fighting a lot. The ones who are supposed to bicker became best friends. And the real childhood friends barely interacted with each other in the game. 

It was fun watching them hang out as a group of friends, but when I tried adding their love interests, it became disastrous. These pixels started giving me headaches when they drifted apart from their friends and fought with their partners. It stopped being a cozy, relaxing game and evolved into another chore.

Everything was drawn based on my in-game screenshots, except this last one, which is a made-up scene in my head:

This is something I thought over the holiday, when I returned home, meet a friend and talked to my family:

I believe nurturing any relationship is like caring for a tree. Apart from water as the most basic need, they also require nutrients and sufficient space to grow. When being surrounded by people who are willing to share and listen, my inner world grows like a tree that eventually becomes a forest.

I tried doing digital watercolor in Infinite Painter, but it felt lacking to me, so I switched to Clip Studio Paint halfway. Also, I can't make complicated illustrations on my tablet since it has a pretty weak RAM

Here's the process video:

I used a free app to animate so there was a weird blur after exporting, which lasted about one second at the beginning. The only solution I could come up with was to extend the timeline and trim out that part. Guess there is a price for using freebies 😅

I was upset by the current state of the world, so I painted something peaceful to comfort myself.

I have several relationships to reconsider this year.

It's not easy to discard something that has become a part of who I am. I have to keep asking myself, “Am I being selfish?” “Am I too sensitive?”.

My OC can’t swim in fresh water because it’ll damage her skin. Kelpie doesn’t exist in this universe either. I only draw this for the challenge :P

Made this for #GhostsOfGalleriesPast challenge. Basically, choose an old artwork and create a new ghost version of it. The old art was from 2017. I didn’t have enough time for background, so I skipped the forest in the original.

His name is Enthra, by the way. In the initial concept, he was a Prince and later King. But I altered the plot a lot and as of now, it’s undecided what his role or title will be. However, he would still be somewhat of an important figure.
