In the MCU, do all SHIELD agents have to go through the academy? Can a scientist work for them without having to go through the Academy of Science and Technology?
I would say that a SHIELD agent can definitely be recruited through other means! The Academy is just for those who get put on SHIELD’s radar when they’re still in high school, since it kind of functions as a college. But I think that any particularly talented scientist could find their way onto SHIELD’s radar without having to go through the Academy!

I’m still ironing out the details, please tell me how to improve!
Mod Waffles here! I was pretty stoked to see a Marvel Cinematic Universe OC, so let’s jump right in here!
I will go ahead and lead with the statement that I will be making some comments on the presentation aspect of this profile, and place a warning that this profile runs very long. So here we go!
Hi, did you get my oc?
Hi, mod Waffles here! Sorry I’ve been a little absent lately; I’ve had a super busy summer!
I don’t actually know if I got your OC since this is anonymous, but I’m actually going through the inbox right now, so don’t fret!
~Waffles
Hello! Are you accepting OCs at the moment?
We certainly are! Send them on in!~mod Waffles

Can I send in a Avengers oc
Go right ahead!~mod Waffles
Henry Dickens
Hey! This is the same person who submitted Manis Wirth for a critique. Here’s a character with a slightly less major role who I think needs some work.
Mod Waffles here to review a second character within a week (I must be on some kind of a roll)!
Setting and Overview: The majority of the story is set in modern day (2010’s) Arizona. Superheroes, while still rare, are becoming increasingly popular and sought after as city-builders as opposed to crime-fighters. A company dedicated to taking in gifted people and turning them into productive members of the community (called the SHCC) recruits a small team of people who lack the skill to be city-builders but are experienced in fighting or have powers that can’t be used constructively. The crime-fighting posse is looked down upon by most. It can be categorized as dark comedy, supernatural and psychological horror, and comedy-drama. Henry seems to be a supporting character at first but he becomes more important later on.
Same as what I said before regarding genre: saying it’s a dark/black comedy with psychological horror pretty much sums up the rest of the genre. Let’s dive in to Henry Dickens, shall we?
Do you review Undertale OC's?
I know for a fact that Mod Kidd is familiar with Undertale if reblogged content can be trusted, but I don’t think any of the other mods are!
But because we have a mod who is familiar, then the answer is a definitive yes!
(Just please make sure that it is not a self-insert before you submit, we don’t review those)

Mod OC - Juliana
It’s several submissions late, but here goes: Another character profile from mod Waffles!
This one I’ve kind of focused on the kind of formatting we’re typically looking for in a character profile!
She’s a character for a high/epic fantasy story that my sister and I are writing - one of the main characters, actually. The setting is more late-Medieval-inspired as far as aesthetics go.
Manis Wirth
Setting and Overview: The majority of the story is set in modern day (2010’s) Arizona. Technology is a bit more advanced. Specifically computers and robotics. Superheroes, while still rare, are becoming increasingly popular and sought after as city-builders as opposed to crime-fighters. A company dedicated to taking in gifted people and turning them into productive members of the community recruits a small team of people who lack the skill to be city-builders but are experienced in fighting or have powers that can’t be used constructively. The crime-fighting posse is looked down upon by most. It can be categorized as black comedy, supernatural and psychological horror, and comedy-drama. Manis is the protagonist of the story, however 3 other characters are given as much attention and play equally important roles in the story.
Mod Waffles: Let me just start out that I am super behind this setting. You don’t necessarily need to give such a detailed run-down of the genre; just mentioning that it’s black comedy and psychological horror conveys (in my opinion) the full scope of all the genres you listed.
So, without further ado, let’s tackle Manis Wirth

I’m asking for is a design-only critique. (Am I doing this right? Maybe I’ll submit the profile itself later, when I define it enough…)
He’s not a fancharacter, but a non-human creature that lives in frozen areas. He’s supposed to come off as fragile, small and/or even a little pathetic.
I plan to use him in an OCT, so thanks in advance!
Hey so I can't pick between the names Eon and Etzal for a character I'm working on and was wondering wich one sounds better?
Depends on what the character is like. I personally like Eon, though.

New Mod!
Hi!  I’m Canary and I’m your newest new mod! Â
I’m a sophomore Theatre/Creative writing double major with a passion for costume design, basically any culture or mythos, birds, horses, (animals in general,) and concept design.  I love making art:  I draw, sew, sing, cosplay, play trombone, and write, as well as dabble in painting, photography, and playing piano.  I go hiking occasionally and am super into evolutionary biology and zoology (although not enough to take any classes in them).  As for writing, my passions lie in character creation and development and world building.  I’m writing my own novel, a fantasy/action-adventure piece, and I have 4 other story worlds currently sitting around waiting for me to write something with them.  I’m best with fantasy, but I’m starting to dabble in sci-fi and mystery/noir (the latter mostly because of our other new mod, Raptor). Â
I’m in so many fandoms, so I can help out with any of the following:  Fullmetal Alchemist, RWBY, Kill la Kill, Blue Exorcist, Orange Marmalade (a lovely manhwa about vampires, I’d totally recommend it to those into love stories), Noblesse (another manhwa about vampires, but this one’s funny and they’re not really vampires) The Sight/Fell (Clement-Davies), Tamora Pierce’s Immortals and Beka Cooper series, Heroes, everything Marvel, Steven Universe, and Gravity Falls. Â
I can totally review your fan characters for any of the above, as well as nonhuman character designs (my fav)!
My main blog’s here, and you can also check out my writing blog, my art blog, and my cosplay page!
Looking forward to meeting your lovely characters!

Reblogging this because I just remembered some information.  Don’t mind me.

The Art of Murder
Ars Homicidium is an experimental, second-person story about a magical assassin whose magical abilities cause a great deal of trouble.
Feel free to send in “commands” or suggestions through the ask box; reader interaction is strongly encouraged. Longer interactions can be sent through submissions.
So I would really appreciate it if you guys took the time to check out my latest story/project thing. It’s part of my NaNoWriMo this year, and I’m really enjoying writing it so far, but having other people actually interacting with it would be even cooler! Go check it out!
Mod Waffles here shamelessly plugging my latest creative project! Go check it out!

PJO OC: Wichita Gomez
Please note that this is before Lightning Thief
Also, sorry if I screwed up somewhere while making the profile.
Name: Wichita Gomez
Hey! So I'd love to submit a character for review, but I was wondering if you had a preferred format for the submission. Thanks!
Preferred format is in complete sentences arranged in paragraphs in a way that makes logical sense. Check out the submission guidelines and the (currently only) OC under the "mod oc" tag for more details/an example of the kind of format we're asking for.(Basically, no lists, and don't just fill out a character sheet with sentence fragments. Those are helpful for you, but for us it's better if the submission is in complete sentences in a thoughtful arrangement)~Waffles
