Charmed (1998) confessions

The Piper and Leo ship and Leo himself became creepy to me after he mentioned to Piper that he's been watching Piper since she was a baby (season 5 episode 1). It's hard for me to root for someone who becomes romantically involved with someone he watched grow up all while he was an adult.

I’m rewatching the series from the beginning again and don’t get me wrong, I love Phoebe, but I realized she was actually more likable in seasons 1 & 2. She loved being a witch, she was selfless, street-smart, and gave great advice. Cole completely ruined her character. In season 3 onward she became more selfish and she chose Cole over her own sisters.

When Piper gets shot in the season 3 finale, that's really disturbing to me. There's so much blood, it's disgusting to look at. Shannen's acting in those scenes is great, but the blood is so distracting to me that I can't focus on her performance. I don't like the episode.

I really liked Billie in the first five episodes of season 8. She was cool, fun and badass, and it was nice to see someone so excited about magic. However, the storyline with Christy pretty much ruined her as a character. First she became obsessed with finding her sister, and then she let herself get totally manipulated by her. She completely lost the fun personality she had at the beginning, I didn't like that.

I really liked and enjoyed Bacarra. I wish we had seen more of him.

I still hope one day they'll make a Charmed reunion with the power of four and their kids too, of course with the original cast as well.

I wish season 6 had been written with more care and planning. It's the kind of plotline where good continuity adds a lot. It would've helped if the writers'd had Chris's backstory fully thought out from the beginning, but instead they were making stuff up as they went and even contradicted themselves occasionally. It was a great plot, but it would have been even better if it had been more consistent.

The power to blow things up suits Piper. Since her original power is stopping molecules (freezing), it made a very nice contrast for her to have blowing (speeding up molecules so fast they create an explosion). It was neatly thought out.

Brunette Phoebe from 4b to season 7 was horrible. She should have stayed blonde or at least with her brown hair. She looked much older than she was supposed to be.

There were so many interesting plotlines in the show the writers could have used more. Like Paige's alcoholism, Piper's inability to conceive, her decision to adopt someone like Tyler from Lost And Bound, etc.

I'm not very into the later seasons, but I really like Zankou. He has everything a perfect villain should have: he's strong, independent, smart enough to have some respect for the universe's laws. I think it would make sense if he actually was a demon/human breed.

I don't like how easily the sisters forgave Victor for abandoning them. He should have worked for their forgiveness more, should have spent more time with them and really gotten to know them first.

The power to blow things up made no sense for Piper in my opinion. If anyone were to have the power, I feel like it would have suited Prue better, but honestly it made things too easy sometimes and might have been better if they had just not written it in at all.

In 3x04 I couldn't help but laugh when Phoebe talked to Cole in a dumb wig and a poor mask and she didn't recognize him, especially since she proclaimed him to be her true love in the same conversation.

I don’t like Glen. He was too immature and seemed obnoxious.

I've had a minor crush on Jennifer O'Dell ever since I saw The Lost World, so I was excited to see her on an episode of Charmed. The character she played wasn't interesting and the episode she was in was outright stupid, but I loved seeing her face on my favorite show.

I wish they'd made Chris a whitelighter who wasn't a son or brother to anyone.
