This post talks about a new DM feature in youtube. What it fails to mention is that as part of this new feature is that when you send someone a link to a video, and they open it in the youtube app, they will see who sent them the link. Specifically, your channel name.

If your google account name is your real name, so is your channel name by default.

This means the new default behavior is that everyone you send a youtube link to will see your full name if they open it in the mobile app.

To turn this off:

Go to your youtube app settings

Go to Privacy

Turn off "Channel visibility for shared links"

this monologue from susie interests me not in that it's an indiciation of susie "liking darkness too much," but in that it's very indicative of just how much she's been shaken up by what she's just seen in at the end of the prophecy.

susie stakes her entire worth on fate – the idea that she has a purpose written somewhere no one can erase. and it makes sense with who she is – she wants best for tenna, but treats "being a useful object" as what gives him his worth. she fears that like tenna, not having something to make her "useful" – not having a special purpose written in fate itself – means she'll never be chosen at all. she fears that being "a hero" is the only way for someone like her to have friends – that now, she's "still bad", but she has "hope crossed on her heart," because it was foretold. and i don't think that fear has gone away just because she's seen that her fate might require her to do something terrifying – perhaps even to her friends – later on.

it's only after she says this – after she puts on a brave face for ralsei – that she confides in kris her "stupid dream". and i think it makes sense – she wants best for ralsei. she doesn't want him to cry. but that "stupid dream" makes sense, too. her very first adventure – the way things were before – is very symbolic of her fear. in that adventure, she learned how to be a hero. she came to accept her fate. she made friends – she had friends, and for the very first time, those friends were seemingly fated to be hers.

of course, things weren't as clear-cut as she seems to cast them. her gradual deference to the prophecy wasn't and isn't some neat-and-tidy package wrapped in a bow – and that inner conflict over if she should go in on defying it wholesale is rising in her even now. but i do think said conflict is going to come to a head very soon – i think soon, susie'll find herself coming to grips with her past, her present, her fear, and her fate.

i suppose i may be taking this for granted, but it seemed fairly cut-and-dry to me that spades was the one who initially stole the mantle from seam! the physical resemblance is obvious, and he's a card kingdom resident they used to work for. to me it seemed like what we were meant to glean from seeing it fly away is that it went from seam to spades to tvworld somehow, and that the particulars weren't super important beyond that.
