Lately, I’ve been hooked by Mitch Albom books and I’m glad I did!

So the the third book that I read is The Next Person You Meet in Heaven (will be doing the second one later on) Well, since adulting is there and I’ve been not feeling myself lately I finish the book like a 1 or 2 months.

I really love the version of the book I got. It’s a hardbound and a design with each leaf of the pages (don’t know the term for it but yep) really smells good. Haha! Yes I love the smell of the books.

I first read “The five you meet in heaven” because that is the first book and this is the sequel so you better read the first one because you will not understand some parts of the book. Although it so many lessons that you will learn but yeah.

While reading it I thought of ending eventually because base on the first book it’s more likely the same flow of the story but I was wrong.

I did cry in this book and I’m not really expecting it but I did, sometimes you just have to accept all the pain that you are going through to be able to move forward in your life. I know acceptance is not just a piece of gum that you can chew and threw if you’re done with it. It’s a slow process and it takes courage.

Back with another book review, this book has a special place in my heart. It’s a limited edition book written by Augustine Paredes his a friend of mine and an artist from Philippines but base here in Dubai.

Thankful that I get a chance to have a copy of his book. Let’s talk about the cover and look of the book, the cover is very nice and has a really good material. Also, I’m amaze about the pages (the paper that he use) It’s thick and not easily breaking.

It’s funny because when I start reading it I was crying in the first poem and that was the time I knew I don’t want to finish the book in one sitting, So I decided to make a habit to read them one page per day.

This book is a poem book and has a different set of amazing photographs. 12 poems to be exact.

What I LOVED about this book is you can feel every words of it. You’ll suddenly think about “how are you doing with your life?” “Where are your friends?” “What is everybody doing?” “Are they okay?” You’ll feel the real emotions that you keep hiding to your friends and family so that, they’d think you’re doing good. But the truth is you don’t know where you are, you don’t know how you are doing, you don’t know when this gonna end.

And the last poem strikes me really hard, It opens a door that I didn’t visit for a long time. My father his memories started to fill me up again all the of the happy and sad memories that we have, then I wondered what he was doing up there? Is he okay? Is he happy? Is he safe and sound? Then suddenly I want to see him, I want to hug him, I want to cry on his shoulders and tell him how I miss him here on earth.

Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom

Hello! I wanted to write a book review for so long but this past few months (it’s been a year!) I’ve been busy with life and problems haha! So here I am making one again because of anxiety strikes in so I just decided to keep my mind occupied.

So, for the welcome-back-book-review. I’d read Tuesday with Morrie by Mitch Albom, I’d been hearing a lot of good reviews about this book since 2018 but didn’t get a chance to buy my own copy (yep, this isn’t mine I just found it here in the room where I’m currently renting here in the Middle East) when I saw the book I just grabbed it and started reading.

First, let’s talk about the cover well honestly it’s an old book (and it’s not mine) so it’s dusty and have yellow pages, when you look at the spine you know that it’s been read a lot and honestly for me as a millenial-tita (not a good trait for a person who loves to read) I always look at the cover as if they are interesting but for this book I don’t see anything that it’s interesting (I know, “don’t judge the book by it’s cover”. I’m sorry!).

So, for the story. I don’t want to spoil anything but this book made me cry for hours, literally! I like how Mitch describe things in the book the scenery, how Morrie looks like.

What I love about the book is you will learn so many things, you will realised so many things in life that you should do and shouldn’t do. I love how Morrie look at things differently, how beautiful life is and that it is okay to live your life the way you want to and not hold grudges, hatred and being true to what you feel.

I don’t know what to say anymore but YOU MUST read this if you get a chance to or make time to read this, I promise you, you’ll thank me for it.

Another review for my all time favorite author J.K. Rowling. Actually I am a super fan of Harry Potter Series (Potterhead). Me and my brother used to watched it together when were kids and we also watched the Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince in the cinema despite of a typhoon in the Philippines. And now I’m older I’m buying stuff like funk-pop figure of Harry Potter Characters. The first time that Fantastic Beast is out I am really really happy because I thought my happy days are over but J.K. hit it with a boom. I didn’t have a chance to watch it in cinema and it’s really sad.

This book is given to me by a very very good friend. Thank you, MJ! Anyways let’s start with the book design. It’s hard bound and you know how I love hardbound books it makes the book very special, the wrap paper has amazing illustration the authors name, the title and the details are embossed with gold color also in the back. When you open the wrap the hardbound front had a symbol of a Niffler.

This book is the Screenplay of the movie so wha happens to the movie is also the same in the book. So this is like I’m also reviewing the film itself. I am really amazed in J.K. because it is really hard to imagine different creatures that Newt had. Okay so the story is all about Newt Scamander who believe that all the creatures has to be loved and there’s no need to be afraid of. Newt is in New York to rescue a creature but he bumped into Tina Goldstein an Auror who works in Ministry of Magic in America and also an accidental encounter to Jacob Kowalski a No-Maj or a Muggle (a non magic human). Later on you’ll meet Queenie Goldstein, Tina’s sister she is a legilimens who can read mind. And we will also meet Credence who has a big part in the story he is an orphan who used to be also a wizard but he has a bigger problem about his identity. He is scared to the head of the orphan who hates wizard/witch. I don’t wanna spoil everything because I want you to read or explore the world of Harry Potter.

I cannot wait for the more of Fantastic Beast to have a series film or book I’m on it.

Hello, I’m back with another review, been months after I hold a book and finish it.

I’ll be reviewing Sea of Strangers by *my favourite writer* Lang Leav. This is just my insights to the book and what I felt while reading it.

First, I’ll be talking about the book itself how it looks, well ever since I notice that Lang Leav have a beautiful taste for combining colors and the sketch of a girl really hit me. The title and Lang Leav’s name are emboss and published by Andrews McMeel.

So let’s begin with the book, I list down the topics I noticed while reading it. This one is a Poetry and Prose book, and Lang Leav is a very good writer when it comes to poetry and looking forward for her novels. While reading it I noticed the poems are about Love Self, Heart breaks and also hope and yes Lang Leav didn’t fail to surprise me. While reading it I’ve felt many emotions and at the same time what I liked about her poetry it makes connection to the reader a really tough one. It’s like she hurt me very bad using just a poem, she made me believe that I can do things I deserve to get, she made me believe that we still have hope for everything. And from the title itself “Sea of Strangers” most of the poems are about how things changes to friends to strangers, to lovers to strangers and how it is become that a stranger can broke are heart that easily? How a stranger make us happy that a span of time.

This prose is really my favorite one it is entitled “New Beginnings” just a line, it said.

“Bravely accept the fact that I can’t keep my heart safe any more than I can stop love from taking everything from me”

It’s just wonderful how a poem really affects my emotions. It’s just amazing that all of a sudden the book/writer know how you feel.

Hello! I’m back! with a new book journey. This time I read a local book a Philippine author the great Ricky Lee. I completed his books and I am excited for his fourth novel, for this one I pre-ordered it online because when you order online it comes with a special dedication from him. So I’m glad I ordered online.

For the actual book the cover is like a cardboard? I don’t know but it kinda looks unique and a nature friendly and for the cover it has this symbols that signifies to the story and a silhoutte of Marta.

The story is all about the house of Marta telling story about the Life of Marta to a stray kid that has disability his face is splay and his deaf.

Marta is a mother of two Badong and Joaquin but her true son is Badong, Joaquin is just her adopted child because Joaquin’s parents died and Marta is the nanny of Joaquin. So Marta took care of Joaquin ever since. Marta is the type of girl that is hard to be friend of, she is strict and a bit of perfectionist. But she is a truly a good mother.

Joaquin is a priest now. He barely went home to his “Nay Marta” because of his responsibility to become a good priest. Joaquin is a good kid to Marta even Marta is not her true mother but he always consider what is best for his Nay Marta and his brother Badong.

Badong is the black sheep of the family, he always make trouble but the truth is his just jealous of Joaquin. But in the story you’ll know he loves Marta with his heart.

This part my spoil you, The story begins when the house of Marta tell the story to a stray kid, Marta had to repair her house because of the broken roof because Marta is strict and sometimes a bitch. Tomas is one of the carpenter of the house, theirs this one night Tomas enter the house, drunk and begun to stripped her clothes and begun to raped her. And Marta started to be paranoid that day everyday she’s waiting for Tomas to comeback for her to kill him. But when she thought Tomas has come back, she stab him again and again but when she knew it, it’s not Tomas but it is Badong. Badong has been jail because he caught using drugs, Then Marta lost her self and begun to stay to a Mental Hospital

What I really like about the book is it is really had a deep meaning the “house” stands for (for me) it is the justice that we can’t have, a love that we can’t have. It really touch my heart.

The book taught me we should tell story that has to be told. We should speak the truth, We should not scared to tell what we know is right. We should know our worth.

Hi Bookworms, so I will be telling you my journey on reading this book. I bought this book as a birthday present to my self, (my birthday is march) I bought it because John Green is really one of my favourite author, my favourite book that he wrote is The Fault in Our Stars and also Looking for Alaska. (I’ll be doing reviews with that if you want to).

I had no clue, what is the story about because like Sad Girls (Lang Leave) it has no synopsis on the back. Well I still believe it will be a great book because based on his previous books. (YEAH)

Let’s start with the book itself. The book is hard bound (and I really love hard bound books). It has the cover of the title of course but when you remove it the cover has a Tuatara logo. I will be mentioning it later if you’re wondering what it has to do to a tuatara and what’s tuatara. The color is orange and cream, in the spine it has silver stamp of the title. The leaves is just like the other books.

At first I’m wondering why the title is “Turtles All The Way Down” and I’m half of the book almost done but it has a part where Daisy is taking about a story about the world. And it comes about the turtles, it has a good realization actually I don’t wanna spoil it you should read this. :)

So about the story, I might have spoil most of the story so. Here we go, The story is all about Aza Holmes and her best friend Daisy who loves Star Wars, so to Star Wars fan out this book might be relatable to you. Aza and Daisy loves to investigate things. In their town Russel Davis Pickett is missing Russel Davis Picket is a Billionaire and a corrupt. And they investigate the case given that it has reward and Daisy really needed the money, Aza has this thoughts that makes her look crazy she is seeing a therapist and had to take medications. So as a best friend to Daisy she help her solving this case for the money, accidentally he know Davis Pickett the son of Russel Davis Pickett. Eventually they’re having this kind of relationship that they don’t know. But it’s kinda romantic I promise you.

I will start with Aza Holmes, Daisy calls her Holmesy. She has a supportive mother that love her so much, because since her father die her mother doing her best to be a good parent to her.  Aza has this thought that she has C. Diff, so a short discussion about C. Diff I really have to research it to be able to understand what Aza is going through. So it says that C. Diff or Clostridium difficile infection is a symptomatic infection due to the spore-forming bacterium. So she has this callus in her finger and it became a wound and she thinks not changing the band aid of her wound will kill her because of the bacteria. So I said earlier he had a thing with Davis, she and Davis kissed and her thoughts can’t stop talking to her that she shouldn’t do that because kissing is like passing half of your bacteria to other person (but it’s a good bacteria I like to think) because of her thoughts battling with herself she had to put hand sanitizer in her mouth several times. How crazy is that? At first I’m so pissed about her while reading it I’m talking to the book like “what the hell are you doing, You can not do as she says” but I realize when you have these thoughts you don’t know how it will end or atleast make peace with your on mind.

Second is with Daisy, Again if your a fan of Star Wars Daisy might be your girl. Because she really loves Chewie and Rey or I hope I say it right Wookies! She has this blog where she writes her own story about Star Wars about Chewie and Rey having a relationship. It’s fun to read tho. So Daisy is not as stable in life as Aza, she really needs money for her sister to go to college and all. But she had Mychal who loved her and she love also. Daisy is a kind of friend that only wants to have fun and have a good life and she’ll do everything to get it. And yeah I really admire her.

Davis Pickett, Davis has a brother Noah and they really have a great house, they have their own cinema and all controls of the house is just one click on Davis’s phone. You can see on Davis that he don’t want that bunch of money, He is broken inside because of what happens to their family he misses his mom who died years ago. His having a problem about Noah because his not ready to be responsible for his brother. Their family own a Tuatara, a tuatara is like a lizard it is a reptile that can live up to 200 years and his father leave the tuatara the owner of all their money, house and business all of it. He hates his Dad so much for not being a father for him and Noah. Davis likes stars, galaxy and planets, his the type of guy that is mysterious and not take you for granted but also showing you that you are loved and beautiful. I think thats what I think to Davis.

What I like about this book is you can really learn from it, out of curiosity I search most of the topics like what is C.Diff about Tuatara and all. I learn many things on this book. And also not all people are strong enough to be by your side always. You have to appreciate them as possible because you cannot find same personality in a person.

And lastly, I realize here it is okay not to be okay, and also not all bad ending is a bad ending, but it’s like a good start to start over and that time you know you will do good.  

Hi, so to my first book review it’s Sad Girls by Lan Leav her first novel book. 

Let’s talk about the Book itself. Nakakatuwa yung Cover nya kasi muka syang hardbound pero parang semi lang and yung title and Lang Leav’s name naka emboss sya then yung size nya is different in a regular book mejo malaki sya. Makapal din sya compare sa other books. The leaves of the book is perfectly made din. Kung ano yung sa previous book nya ganon don. 

Let’s start with the story. Very excited ako na basahin to kasi, Lang Leav is one of the authors na sobrang minahal ko so nung nag ka novel sya binasa ko din talaga. The story is about a girl named Audrey and the lie she told to everyone about Ana and the reason why Ana is dead. The book is also about her panic attack and anxiety and she met Rad whose Ana’s boyfriend. 

I really like the story as the same having anxiety, alam mong alam ni Lang Leav yung sinasabi nya it feels na nafefeel nya din yon? Alam mo yon nakakarelate how Audrey reacts sa mga bagay na nagttrigger sa anxiety nya. Nakakatuwa din kasi wala kang maitatapon sa story kasi lahat talaga sila mag kaka connect and ang sakit nya sobra. I literally cried when reading this (given na I’m such a cry baby) pero ang sakit lang din talaga. Yung you thought okay na wala ka ng anxiety tapos everything is going well with your life pero sa isang dahilan *poof* Ayon kana ulit. 

And also I really like the friendship of Lucy and Audrey because kung mababasa nyo yung book. You will feel that we always have that one friend that even though you don’t share everything with them because you’re scared that they might judge you. But in the end they are the ones understanding you. And to those who want to read this book (YOU MUST) Di ko na isspoil pero that ending got me shookt! Sobrang gulat na gulat ako. Na sobra akong nainis then napatanong talaga ko sa sarili ko. As in

Lastly, What I really like about the book. It teaches me na life is really a choice kahit gaano kapangit at kagulo yung nangyari you get the chance to chooses what you wanted and not force you to choose it because it’s for the best. 

For this book I’ll rate this 8/10 :)

So this past few weeks iniisip ko ba kung gagawa ba ko ng sarili kong youtube channel or I’m gonna make my own website, nag pa survey pa ako sa twitter and IG stories. Ang lumabas sa twitter 60% youtube channel 40% for blog and website. Then sa IG (Intragram Stories) 50/50 sya.

I decided why not create an account sa Tumblr, kaya Tumblr kasi since then dito na ako. Nag sshare ng mga insights ko nung high school pa lang ako. So I will be doing both! Siguro I will film my book hauls, and share my book reviews and etc.
