Moth to Your Flame
Why can't I let you go this question burns like smoke in my throat, when I know we're two fires trying to share the same oxygen, consuming everything beautiful between us?
Why can't I walk away when my footsteps echo wrong, wrong, wrong in the hallway of your expectations, when nothing I do lands softly in your hands every gesture a glass sculpture shattering before it reaches you?
Why is it so hard to say "I'm leaving" when the words sit heavy as river stones on my tongue, when I don't want to go but I need to need to like lungs need air, like wilted flowers need water, for my sanity, for my happiness?
But you are my happiness this cruel mathematics of the heart. You fill so much space the corners of my ribcage, the quiet hours before dawn, the echo chamber of my skull where your voice lives rent-free and relentless.
I know I should go, should pack my heart like a suitcase and walk toward the door. But here I am a moth circling your flame, knowing the burn, choosing the light anyway.
Breaking Free
My feet find their rhythm on this cracked pavement, each step a declaration— I am walking forward.
Behind me, the sun bleeds orange and gold, painting the sky like watercolor regret, its dying light casting long shadows of who I used to be.
But I don't turn around. Not anymore.
This new path stretches ahead, unmarked territory beneath my soles, gravel crunching like broken promises I'm finally ready to leave behind.
It's time.
Time to move on— like rivers that refuse to flow backward, like seasons that won't apologize for changing.
Time to move forward to something new— something that tastes like morning coffee instead of bitter tears, something that sounds like laughter instead of apologies.
It's time to embrace life again.
To let it wrap around me like a warm coat I'd forgotten I owned, to find joy hiding in the small things— the way light dances through leaves, the way my breath creates clouds in cold air, proof that I'm still here, still breathing, still becoming.
It is time for me to allow myself to be happy.
To be free— no longer bound by hands that felt like chains, no longer carrying words that weighed me down like stones in my pockets.
Your voice used to follow me everywhere, a shadow with opinions, a critic in my ear— but listen...
Can you hear that?
Silence.
Beautiful, golden silence where I used to hear worry, where I used to hear doubt.
Now there's just the sound of my own footsteps, my own heartbeat, my own voice saying:
It is time that I live for me.
For me— like I'm the protagonist of my own story again, like I'm the artist of my own canvas, like I'm the architect of my own tomorrow.
The sun sets behind me, but ahead— ahead there's a horizon painted in possibility, and I am walking toward it with empty hands and a full heart, finally free to be exactly who I choose to be.
Never Enough
I give you what you want— my hands bleeding from the offering, but it's not enough.
I push harder, stretch myself thin as paper, give you more, more, more until I'm hollow— but it's still wrong.
I don't know anymore what you want from me. I'm a broken compass spinning wildly, searching for your true north that doesn't exist.
I don't know how to make you happy— you're a drought and I'm rain that you refuse to feel.
You push past every boundary I've ever set, like a bulldozer through my paper walls. You push and push and push until I shatter like glass on concrete—
But then you're not happy that I give in. You wanted the fight, not the surrender.
You're not happy with anything I do— I'm damned when I resist, damned when I yield, caught in your impossible maze with no exit signs.
You refuse to step up, refuse to see the mountain of effort I pile at your feet like offerings to a god who's gone blind.
You ignore my pain— it's invisible to you, a ghost you walk through without feeling the cold.
All you see is my frustration, the ugly aftermath of loving someone who takes and takes until the well runs dry and then asks why there's no water.
I am drowning in your thirst for something I can never be.
Breaking Point
It is time.
Time that I stop being the bridge you walk across with muddy boots, stop catching your sharp words like broken glass in my bare hands.
It is time that I quit swallowing your casual cruelties like bitter medicine, pretending they don't leave scars on the soft places inside me.
It is time that I tell you— I love you. But love has become a thread stretched so thin I can see through it now, and I don't know if it's strong enough to hold the weight of us anymore.
I don't know if I can keep taking these emotional hits like a boxer who's forgotten how to duck, keep hiding my bruises behind smiles just to spare you the mirror of your own damage.
I need you to want to work on us— on the garden we planted together that's now choked with weeds. I need you to work on yourself— the broken windows in your soul that let the cold wind through.
But you seem to only want others to be your repair crew, to patch your holes while you stand watching, hands in your pockets.
You depend on others to be your sun, to keep you whole like a puzzle missing pieces you refuse to search for.
You let your demons run the show— those shadow puppets dancing on your walls, pulling your strings while you claim you want to cut them loose but never reach for the scissors.
The words and the wanting don't match anymore.
And I am tired of being the one who pretends they do.

When Shadows Scream
I want to believe you when your lips shape the word love, when your arms feel like safety, when you whisper need like it’s the only prayer you’ve ever known.
But the demons— they don’t whisper. They roar. They claw at the walls of my mind, hissing that you’re just using me, that your words are sugar melting too fast on my tongue, that your promises are smoke slipping through my fingers.
I want to believe— to shut them out, to step barefoot into the life you hold out like an open meadow, grass soft, sky wide, a place where I could breathe without breaking.
But the voices… they never tire. They circle like vultures, chanting that I should vanish, that I am a shadow in the wrong world, that silence would be softer than this storm.
And yet— even as they scream, I find myself clutching your light, a fragile lantern in my shaking hands. The demons may not be quiet, but maybe, just maybe, I can learn to make my voice louder than theirs.
When the Sky is the Right Kind of Lonely
in the dark parts of the night you drift into me like smoke curling through a keyhole, filling rooms in my mind I didn’t know were unlocked.
your love is not just the sun— it is the ghost of a sunrise spilling molten gold over oceans that never existed, warming the bones of some long-forgotten version of me.
your voice is the wind but not of this world— it carries the scent of rain falling on strange gardens, it sings in a language I knew before I was born and forgot until you spoke it again.
your arms are not simply a blanket— they are the quiet gravity of a faraway planet, pulling me into an orbit where no harm can reach me.
I remember laughter as silver fish leaping from dark water, your eyes like secret constellations only visible when the sky is just the right kind of lonely.
I remember moments when your beauty cracked the air open, and light poured through, shaping the world into something softer, something that could hold us.
and now, as I lie in the dark, I am certain— you are somewhere on the other side of the night, dreaming of me too, and the stars between us are only pretending to keep us apart.
SCARRED IN YOUR LIGHT
I love you. I crave your presence. But you— you drive me to insanity.
You make me doubt every choice I ever dared to call mine. Yet— you make the world right.
You make everything shine just a little brighter when we are together.
How can someone cause me so much pain, so much frustration, and still be the one I need— the one my soul leans toward in the dark?
Why is it such a fine line? And why… why is that line so razor sharp that it cuts me down to my soul, leaving scars in places no one else can see?
To my partner who will never read this but should
You were once my safe place— a shelter, a rock I could lean against when the world felt too heavy.
But now, it no longer feels safe to say what I feel. Even my thoughts aren’t mine for long— they’re taken, reshaped, twisted into something that fits your story better than it fits my truth.
I want to grow with you. I want to heal. I still reach for that version of us that felt soft, steady. But lately, I wonder if I’m only here so you can feel full, so you can feel enough.
And I have to ask— do my wants my needs my voice— do they matter to you at all?
Just once I would like to be taken care of instead of being the one to take care of everyone else. Just once I would like the hugs and physical affection without having to ask for it. Just once would like a partner that's says I got this, I got you. That offers the reassurance and lets me completely shutdown. But I guess that is a fantasy.

The gremlin advice for the day. It's only murder if you get caught. Until then its just a missing person.
When did we decide that whoever has the most money is the one that gets to be in power? When did it stop being the strongest or the smartest?
When the world crashes and burns what do you do? When you realize that there is nobody beside you when you hit rock bottom what do you do? How do you keep going when the only ones to keep you company are the demons that led you down? Where is the light at the end if this tunnel?
The only thing to do is to find the small moments that make you smile. Live moment to moment and don't look back. Ask for the help you need and don't be ashamed there are hands waiting to help if you look.
You get inside my head and warp my thoughts you make me think that I'm wrong and you're right. You get me to the point where you could say the sky is green and I would believe you. You become the dark that consumes me so that I can no longer see the light.
When nothing is right
And everything feels wrong
You just gotta tell yourself
To keep on moving on

When you have to keep telling yourself
that everything is going to be alright
and the road will get better.
You gotta just fake it till you make it and it'll be alright
So I read lots of different things and I don’t shy away from the dark stuff featuring abuse and whatnot. Mostly because it makes me sometimes feel better about my not so bright corner of the world. Something I have come to realize while reading and looking at my own mental health is that emotional abuse really comes in all forms. Most people think that it is just in the form of being put down with derogatory terms or being told you aren’t good enough. On the flip side of that is when you want to please someone so bad that you hide the darker emotions for the bright happy ones they want to see. You think that if you show how down you really feel or that you are having a rough day they will be disappointed because they try their best to be there when you need them. You don’t want to hurt their feelings by making them feel like they aren’t enough to keep you happy when in fact its just a rough day but you bottle it up and never show it. I say a lot of this from experience but it is ok to disappoint people. Don;t beat yourself up for it. Harder to do than to say I know but when you let go it helps. Don’t force yourself to be happy to please others, be happy because that’s how you really feel. Or don’t, feel what you feel and embrace that.
