mild take???? a lot of the times people will refer to "baby's first fandom" when interacting with users who are surprised with ships that "don't make sense." which is true, shipping is for fun and shipping IS the absence of canon! i would also like to extend that to users who aggresively think that just because a ship is popular or has a lot of "evidence" it will BECOME canon which is also "baby's first fandom" mentality to me. especially when it involves making it known to showrunners or cast members. simply enjoy the existence of your sillys together in your mind and with your fellow silly enjoyers.
