I’m pushing the Bloodraven microbang agenda (thank you sir Gary Gianni)
When do you think Daeron II's and Aegon IV's relationship has soured?
Do you think it always been like that or it's only when he married a Martell?
Or maybe Baelor I had assumed "custody" of Daeron when he got the crown. Viserys II forced Aegon to accept, and he viciously resented that afterwards.
lowkey i love it when people ask me for hypotheticals on canon. i don't think i contemplated on meta enough when i was writing for aegon ii but i do think about it a lot, it's a half-finished world but the part that's constructed is done with such skill on george's part that filling the gaps is a joy.
if i'm honest, i think aegon iv was likely very proud of him when he was still under the age of ten. and i'm sure daeron was very willing to impress his young, charming, handsome father. he wouldn't yet have clicked onto the awareness that mummy and daddy don't engage with each other the way other people's parents do. he'd take his mother's frailness and watery eyes for granted, because that's how she's always been, and not as an increased consequence of her horrible marriage.
the speculation that aegon iv's last mistress was his daughter is interesting bc if he's willing to sleep with his own girl, where does that leave him with his sons? he projects massively onto daemon, which is proven. we don't get a good grip on his relationship to brynden, and aegor was sent away. before daemon, there was daeron, and he was around for much longer. i think daeron was his possession, not a son. the first person in the world who 'owed' love to aegon.
i don't think aegon had a particularly respectful relationship with his own father who faithfully served his nephews as hand and didn't try to make a play for the throne (which by then aegon would likely think he deserved since baelor was...what he was). he probably also blamed viserys for not keeping larra in westeros, and allowed this same weak king to give his son to dorne. viserys lets the people he loves go, and aegon does the opposite - he keeps everyone he thinks is owed to him, even if he can't stand to be around them (naerys and aemon).

Ronnel Penrose: Master of Coin
Michael Manwoody: a Knight in King Daeron's court
Brynden Rivers: King Daeron's Blackwood brother and full sibling to Mya and Gwenys
And the various children of the cast.
I'm just imagining political and personal choas behind the scenes of King Daeron II's rule. Any and all mention of Blackfyres' is dealt with in hushed whispers. And if any appear its to cause a scandel.
daeron ii holding bloodraven over his head like simba in the opening scene from the lion king “this is my goth little half-brother and i love him very much! did you know he invented the surveillance state??”
Surveillance state fucking took me out 🤣

I love when Jedi say "I sense a disturbamce in the Force" like yes i love that theres a fictional equivalent of "holdup chat the vibes are lowkey off rn"
To disregard canon you must first interact with canon
Stop handing Palpatine's accomplishments to other people!
I’m a Palpatine fan. Not because I think he’s "misunderstood" or because the Jedi deserved what happened, but because he is unapologetically, deliberately evil—and he is terrifyingly good at it. I’m tired of people attributing his wins to everyone except him. It’s time we stop nerfing Darth Sidious just to vilify the Jedi.
The "Anakin Fell Because of the Jedi" Let’s be clear: The Jedi didn’t push Anakin away. Palpatine pulled him. He didn't just wait for the Jedi to mess up; he identified a traumatized kid and spent fourteen years grooming him. He inserted himself as the only "affirming" authority figure in Anakin’s life, slowly warping his worldview until he reached a breaking point. Then, Palpatine stepped in and offered him exactly what he wanted to hear. If the Jedi had somehow magically done everything perfectly to counteract a Sith Master's influence, would Anakin have stayed in the Light? Yeah, probably. But that doesn’t change the fact that Palpatine did it. Just because the Jedi didn't manage to counter everything perfectly—when they didn't even know they had an opponent until the final hour—doesn't mean they deserve the credit for Palpatine's hard work. Stop crediting the Jedi for Anakin’s fall; that’s Palpatine’s masterpiece.
The Propaganda Machine People act like the Jedi just stumbled into being hated through "arrogance." No. Palpatine made them hated. He orchestrated a galactic war where he controlled both sides, then maneuvered the Jedi into military roles that fundamentally broke their image as neutral peacekeepers. He allowed the public to get used to seeing them as armed generals rather than spiritual guardians. That wasn't an accidental optics shift; it was a masterpiece PR assassination.
The "If They Just Didn't Fight" Fallacy I hear this all the time: "If the Jedi hadn't fought in the Clone Wars, they wouldn't have died! Clearly, the Jedi fell because they had lost their way as peacekeepers." …do you seriously think Palpatine wouldn't have found a way to turn that situation to his advantage? If the Jedi had refused to fight, Palpatine wouldn't have just packed up and gone home. He would have weaponized their neutrality. Imagine the Holonet headlines: "Jedi Elitists Refuse to Defend Republic Against Former Member Count Dooku." He would have branded them as cowards, conspirators, or traitors who abandoned the galaxy in its darkest hour. The Clone Wars would have still happened, except the Jedi would be hunted by both the Separists and the Republic. The Purge would still have happened anyway; only the "why"(and "how") would have changed.
'He won because everyone played exactly like his script-' Things didn't go 100% to palpatine's plans in the prequels, he just was really good at adapting Naboo: The Trade Federation fumbled the occupation. Palpatine didn't panic; he still used it to seize the Chancellorship. Maul: His apprentice got cut in half. Palpatine just traded up for Dooku to fuel the Separatist movement. Mustafar: Anakin was supposed to be the perfect specimen, not a mutilated man in a life-support suit. Palpatine simply recalibrated and turned the "broken" remains into Vader.
Conclusion: Palpatine is a competent, ruthless tyrant who doesn't deserve to have his greatest accomplishments credited to the Jedi's "incompetence." Give that man some respect
Day in the life of Maekar Targaryen
I just love how it was Aerion who immediately joined his father into beating Blackfyres, like in canon. Aerion and Bloodraven wanted those bitches dead.
This is actually destroying me

Responsible fathers pt 2/3
HAMMERANVIL FIC IDEA:
OH MY GOD! I was thinking about Alicent and Rhaenyra's fight in season 1 just had an awesome idea, ok, so let me set the scene:
___________________________________________
Baelor(Alpha) and Jena(Beta) have their 2 sons, Valarr and Matarys.
Daeron and Myriah urge Baelor to take a second wife to have a few more children to futher secure the Targaryen line.
Baelor at first very against the idea, but finally agrees to take Maekar(Omega) as a second wife.
Baelor and Maekar have Daeron and Aerion.
Maekar knows his brother has been forced into their marriage out of duty and out of his love for Jena since her body cannnot bear having any more children.
At first there is a lot of tension between Jena and Maekar, Jena understands the duties her husband has to obey and knows in her heart that Baelor loves her.
Maekar knows he is a second wife, a fourth son and never anyone's first choice. He hates that he's now constantly compared to the perfect lady Jena by both his parents and the lord's of the keep. Tension starts to build up.
Something happens, and Maekar snaps at Jena for something menial,Jena snaps right back. They argue in front of the public eye and when Baelor arrives he immediately takes Jena's side without hearing Maekar out.
At that moment, Maekar realises he's all alone.
After this incident, Maekar decides to move and live in summerhall with his children, receiving no resistance from Baelor, who almost seems glad to see them leave.
Years pass and communication is spread thin.
Baelor only gets updates about Daeron and Aerion's upbringing from his mother, Myriah, the only person Maekar keeps in contact with through letters.
Over in summerhall, Maekar has the impression that his family looks down on him for being the fouth son, and Baelor's second wife, an outcast left to his own devices. He dedicates his entire time to raising his children.
In Kingslanding, Baelor always has lords of the red keep whispering poison into his ear about his youngest brothers envy.
This is further fuelled by Jena's worry that Maekar has always been envious of her position as Baelor's true love and first wife. (As though Maekar's children pose a threat to Jena's sons ascension to the throne)
Fastforward a few more years of separation, King Daeron summons Maekar and his sons to Dragonstone, he's fallen ill and wishes for all his family to be together in celebration.
Everyone arrives and there is immediate tension between Jena and Maekar, they don't know how to act around each other. Maekar is cold and blunt and Jena is regal and detached.
Baelor is cordial, using his princely, amicable smile (Maekar recognises it as his political pleasantries *fake smile* )
They all situate themselves withing the castle, and both princes chindren get to reconnect with eachother.
Aerion and Daeron get Valarr and Matarys to sneak out with them past night curfew.
Maybe they get up to some mischief, but something happens.
Maybe Matarys asks a question about Maekar that Daeron doesn't like, maybe Aerion makes fun of Matarys that rubs Valarr the wrong way.
One small altercation turns into a full blown fight, and by the time the kingsguards find them, Matarys has *accidentally* sliced Aerion's eye out.
Everyone is woken up in a panic and by the time everyone congregates into a small room, Maekar is furious.
He demands that Matarys be punished for harming his son.
Another argument between Maekar and Jena ensures.
Jena blames Daeron and Aerion for sneaking her well behaved sons out at night.
Maekar roars about how her perfect children have mutilated and scarred his boy for life.
There's a lot of back and forth until Baelor steps in and, once again, takes Jena's side.
Maekar freezes.
This has happened before. Years ago.
Something small back then, and something so grave right now.
Maekar snaps.
He wants vengeance for his son. He charges and Jena blocks him.
Jena and Maekar are wrestling with a blade and Baelor disarms Maekar.
Maekar pleads one last time.
About how Aerion is Baelor's son.
Baelor is conflicted, but as always, he stands to protect Jena, Valarr and Matarys over Maekar, Daeron and Aerion.
King Daeron has the final say and concludes it was an accident, and that Matarys will not be punished for his actions.
That very next day, as soon as the masters deem it safe for Aerion to travel, Maekar leaves Dragonstone with his children.
He hates Jena, he despises her children.
And any love he once had for his brother is long gone.
Maybe he returns to Summerhall, maybe he crosses paths with a certain Baratheon lord.
Either way, months after this whole dispute, Baelor finally hears news of his brother in one of his mother's letters.
Maekar has taken a new husband, Lyonel Baratheon, and they are now expecting a new child( Aemon, *Aegon, Daella and Rhae will come later*)
And for the first time ever, Baelor has a rotten feeling in his soul. His omega has taken a new husband. His brother-wife is having children with another man?
He's furious, he's conflicted and hurt. And for a moment he wonders if this is how Maekar had felt all those years ago.
Being a second thought, a second option, and never a priority in his mind.
Baelor feels shame and regret, for his actions and, as he watches Valarr and Matarys at Jena's side, he knows there's nothing he could do to ever get his brother back.
-------------------------------
Epilogue - After a few more years, Jena dies, Baelor is alone and miserable.
Maekar is living his best life with all his children and a husband that puts him first.
THE END.
-------------------------------
Sorry if that sounded really evil at the end for Baelor but i couldn't help myself.
I keep seeing fics where Maekar suffers because he loves Baelor so much and Baelor always seems to put Jena first as his wife, and then he cheats on her with Maekar and is always like "I have a loving wife , but you're not allowed to even look at another man because your mine" and I hate it! Maekar deserves happiness too you prick.
Also the power dynamic between Maekar and Jena would be amazing! Like, Jena is Baelor's first wife, but Maekar is the KING'S son. A lot can happen there, lots of potential friction.
And I’m kinda loving the idea of Maekar and Lyonel getting together, which shocks everyone, becuase Lyonel HATES the Targaryens but somehow is enamoured by Maekar and the Maekarlings. He becomes the father that stepped up. And they proceed to have several more maekarlings of their own.
Anyways.
Happy ending for Maekar.
Unhappy ending for Baelor.
That's it, the end.
Ok bye xx
