LONDON: The @zahahadidgallery exhibit #MetaUtopia - Between Process + Poetry, open from today. Process is explored here in extremes, with materials reinvented and repurposed in forward-thinking ways, informing a new way of creation. Works presented have been created by a diverse group of architects, designers and researchers. LONDON: Open next Thursday, the new @DesignMuseum, is housed in a grade II listed modernist building from the 1960s which lay dormant for many years until the exciting vision of director #DeyanSudjic came to life. After a 5 year construction process, @oma.eu, Allies A+ Morrison and @arupgroup restored the buildings spectacular concrete roof and facade, with architect #JohnPawson remodelling the interior. The new building includes two major temporary gallery spaces, a free permanent collection display, restaurant, auditorium, studios, library, archive and new learning facilities. As Sudjic proclaims, "Design doesn't stand still" - this is a very big moment in London and design's history. LONDON: The @DesignMuseum will open its doors for the first time on November 24, in its new home on Kensington High Street. At today's preview Sir Terence Conrad, founder of the Design Museum, shared his thoughts on the importance of design in relation to our lives and economy, additionally stating that every manufacturer should have a designer on its board. Conran expressed his supreme fondness for the new museum, announcing proudly that it will "Educate and inspire future generations to come". Here in front of the stunning landmark grade II listed modernist building from the 60s revised and redesigned by architect #JohnPawson, this project was constructed over 5 years. LONDON: @Hauserwirth presents the work of Brazilian artist #LygiaPape. Her works explore positive and negative space, along with geometric forms. Many of her works were created as a reaction to the political repression in late 1960s Brazil. She had strong critical views of the government's social and political hierarchies. #Pape's Ttéia works are some of her most well-known and celebrated works. Here pictured, Ttéia 1C combines multiple groups of silver thread, along with nails and light to create an intersection of dark and light in the gallery space. LONDON: David Bowie's collection (auctioned in 3 separate auctions, all proceeds going to the Bowie estate) made over £24 million in its first auction. Basquiat's 'Untitled' (above) sold for £2.4m and 'Air Power' sold for £7m. It's quite insane that the works were/are valued by the buyer/the market at this price, whereas Bowie bought them because of a personal or emotional connection (the same going for all of the items in his collection). 'Untitled' says so much about society, the reality of the world - true art always reflects on and communicates this. 💫

LONDON: @hauserwirth presents the work of Brazilian artist #LygiaPape, 1927-2004. Central to the Neo-concrete movement, #Pape pioneered an individual approach to abstraction. Her Ttéias works are her most celebrated, with Ttéia 1C (1976/2002) featured here. Made up of silver thread, nails and light only - the constructed geometric installation literally weaves through the air. LONDON: Tomorrow is your last chance to view the personal art collection of #DavidBowie before it goes under the hammer in a three-part auction. The remarkable Bowie had a profound knowledge in art and history, and this was shown through his personal collecting of Modern and Post-war British art, Surrealist, Outsider art and work from the Memphis group (collecting works by #JeanMichelBasquiat, #BarbaraHepworth, #DamienHirst, #FrankAuerbach, #NathalieDuPasquier and #EttoreSottsass). Works always seemed to reflect society or identity. Bowie states, "Art was, seriously, the only thing I ever wanted to own. It has always been for me a stable nourishment. I use it. It can change the way I feel in the mornings. LONDON: Here, at the opening ceremony for the World Press Photo 15 launch in London with photographer #dariomitidieri speaking his 'Family Portrait Series' which he won't a 'Third Prize Single' for, and which he worked with a brand to capture (and therefore highlighting the invisible line of what reportage photographers now need to do in order to create the work they want to). He explains, "How important is it that we walk around and we trust what we see" thus emphasising and reinforcing the strict selection process the World Press Photo undertake, and also the difficulties reportage photographers now face. The #WorldPressPhoto is now on exhibition to the public at the @southbankcentre until November 22nd.

LONDON: Artist #BedwyrWilliams exhibits 'The Gulch' in the Curve gallery at the @barbicancentre. Humour is everywhere you look in the installation, brought together through British and general contemporary references. Exhibiting until the 8th of January 2017.
