eric rolled his eyes, getting more irritated by the second. he never took criticism well, especially from someone with such a dry tone. “your opinion, not truth or fact.” he replied, now obviously annoyed. “the music i make is genuine.”

“okay, pal,” eric sounded less than impressed, eyes scanning the other who was getting tense with him. “i’d really suggest that you back the fuck up now, thanks.”

“okay, okay. can you pick me out a jacket when you go to the bedroom? i can’t bring myself to move.” he tried to look as sweet as he could to convince her. “what can i say? i’m a smooth talker.”

“thanks, ‘man’. you’re so straight.” eric teased, using his fingers as quotation marks around the word ‘man’. “i’m glad you come over, though. i’ve been missing my best buddy.”

“i’ll do my best to not do that, then.” he nodded, laughing along with her. “oh, they really know no boundaries. have you noticed how much they love gossip, but think no one knows? like audrey, honey, everyone knows you’re nosey.”

eric gasped at her suggestion, pointing finger guns at her in a ‘great thinking’ kind of way. “that right there? that’s why i want to marry you. you’re a genius.” he joked. “you know i don’t mean it! no matter what, you’re pretty, you know this.” 

“... should i be scared?” he pushed his chair back jokingly, before moving closer again and patting her shoulder. “it’s understandable, really. old people can be so patronising and annoying.”

“wherever you want to go.” he smiled, wiggling his eyebrows. he shook his head quickly at her, leaning over to leave a kiss on her lips. “nope, you don’t. don’t think that’s ever possible. unless you’re like... super sick and snotty.”
