The skirt is a bit too short for the empire waistline and the sleeves are too short bc I’m too talllll also since it’s very basic I really need to lean into the motifs it does have which are those crosses and the bows BUT the bow I have at the top is NOT the same bow type as the ones on the bottom, AND I have crosses on but they’re not the same cross as the one in the actual dress so I need to find or make jewelry that is the SAME design as the cross on the dress, and figure out how to make the sleeves longer T-T I was thinking about adding like a sort of black cuff past the sleeves but I would need to find a fabric that matches the fabric on the dress (which is so hard it’s such a weird fabric T-T) same with the skirt I was thinking of adding more layers underneath to make it longer (like another black & another cream) issue being I would want to match the crosses and the cut - I was almost at the point of buying a second one (this one was only like $30 from taobao) and cutting the skirt off then adding a length to the top of it so I could sew the second skirt onto the first one to make it a perfect double layer and since this is not one that you really cupcake it would most likely be okay with the silhouette. Plus then I could use the leftover parts from the sleeves to make cuffs to lengthen it. I do also need to get a headpiece to match but the cream colour on this dress is SO specific T-T so on god it might be best if I do get another one and use scraps from the bodice to make a bonnet. I think this one would look best with a bonnet and not a headband but I’m not 100% sure.
